YesAsia Editorial Description

Long before this film hit the theatres, it drew interest for its pairing of two of Korea's most respected stars: Sol Kyung-gu (Peppermint Candy) and Jeon Do-yeon (Happy End). In their first crack at romantic comedy, Sol and Jeon take on parts which, although lacking the emotional extremes of their previous roles, are nonetheless the very heart of this film. At times the film's music recalls a Sleepless in Seattle or When Harry Met Sally, but "I wish I had a wife...too" is a much different sort of movie. Content to revel in the ordinary, it lingers on unimportant details and its heroes' assorted quirks. Although at times this comes at the expense of plot, it imparts to the film a sense of honesty, as well as an unhurried pleasure. By the latter half of the film we become quite intimate with the characters. Ultimately this movie feels like a comfortable old pair of jeans. While it makes no effort to jump out and grab one's attention, viewers will be pulled in by its light humor and the way it makes its characters' lives feel so familiar.

Quiet tale of finding love Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I love films like "I Wish I Had a Wife". They take their time to let a simple story unfold in a natural fashion and to let us really get to know the central characters.

Jeon Do-yeon and Sul Kyung-gu are splendid in the lead roles. Sul Kyung-gu is perfect as the all-too-typical male who desperately wants to find a spouse, but falls for the unsuitable beautiful woman with a past instead of the sweet-hearted teacher across the street. Jeon Do-yeon captivates as the mousy teacher who misreads the intentions of Mr. Sul.

Two moments in particular stand out in this film. First, the scene in which the power goes out in the subway car in which Mr. Sul is riding and, all around him, he sees the electronic glow of cell phones, as other passengers place calls to loved ones ... and he realizes that he has no one to call. Second, the heartbreaking moment when Miss Jeon tells her friend about her affection for Mr. Sul and that "he made the first move", when the viewer knows that she has misperceived the situation. These are wonderful pieces of film artistry.

I highly recommend this film for a general audience.

Great, down-to-earth romantic movie Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I liked this movie a lot. It's very easy to relate to the characters who were all done very realistically. It's a light romantic comedy with a very pleasent feel ot it.

Another great Korean Lovestory Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Do you know the guy from "Oasis" ... Sul Kyung Ku ...
or the girl from "Harmonium in my memory", "No blood no tears", "The contact", "Happy end" etc.... Jeon Do Yeon .

Both really great actors meet in this lovestory. The story moves slow... but I`m sure you`will love it too!
