Hasegawa Kayano, a department store employee, and her boyfriend, Kota, are stuck in a rut, but she's the only one who seems to notice. Their dates usually consist of sleeping over at each other's apartment on alternating weekends, and at age 32, Kayano is starting to feel that life should hold more. One day, she hears that an old workmate named Tsuboichi Emi, presently working in Shanghai, will be making a brief visit back to Japan, and decides to arrange a party with some of their old friends. Among the people who show up are Taguchi Satomi, a girl who has recently left the company to get married; Takano Kyoko, an elevator girl; and Hagiwara Kaoru, a new employee at the company. At the party, Kayano poses this question to her friends: What is the most memorable date of your life? As the girls mull over the question, the the answers and a whole lot more begin to flow...
