This is Pierrot's first album I have heard. I thought it was kind of weak at first at some points, but I gave it time, and it really grew on me. All of it, from the opener to the closer, is well done. Also, the way the pictures are done in the lyrics booklet are both artistic and strange. The eye on the cover freaks me out whenever I look at it! |

Best Pierrot Album Ever
Best Pierrot album ever, I swear it. Sure, the CD booklet is a bit strange, and I keep losing the pages (it's not bound), but it's one of my most proud and prized possessions now. Both fantastic and stimulating music, as is to be expected from Pierrot. Absolutely fantastic, I swear it. |

The best 48.58 minutes of my life...
I just got this CD today...and Im still pretty excited about it. The moment I popped the CD into my player, I slipped the headphones on and locked myself in my room, devoting all the time to PIERROT. At first, I saw there was only 12 songs on the album, and that was quite, well, disappointing (I mean, the new Dir en grey one has 15!). But after a listen, I realized that there 12 songs were so worth the money. The album kicks off with a pill? and the introduction to that song took me by surprise, because it was so very techno-ish. The techno feeling underlines the whole song through the end, but PIERROT adds their signature rock touch to it just enough to prevent it from being too techno. The second song, PSYCHEDELIC LOVER?is my favorite from this album! Its quite a poppy song with rather happy lyrics, but, as Kirito said, the meaning of the songs changed in context to the album theme ^^;;;. DAYBREAK?is another one of my favorites, since it features Kirito doing some very crazy shouts and screams...and hes great at it! The album as a whole is fast-paced with upbeat music; ACID RAIN?is probably the closest thing to a ballad. Overall, this is an EXCELLENT album and worth every penny. PIERROT keeps getting better and better; theyre growing and evolving and trying new things, but always add their signature touch to it, which makes their music one of the greatest in the J-ROCK scene. |

Rock with Roll Pierrot Style
Pierrot steps up to the plate and hits a homer. Though my expectations were not as high for ID Attack, I was pleasantly surprised to find the album is a non-stop assualt. There's not a throw away track on it. The aforementioned dance-able 80's stylings of 'a pill', the alternative rock number 'upper flower' every song breaks from the mold just enough that things never get dull. And everyone must hear God Bless XmeXXXX just for the unexpected audacity of a Japanese rock band lashing out at America's post 9-11 warmongering. This record may not hold up to Pierrot's earlier work (Pandora's Box, Private Enemy), but it ushers in a new era of sound for them, and it's a damn good ride with very few speed bumps to slow it down. |

A surprise, but not an unpleasant one
In ID ATTACK, Pierrot presents to us a variety of new and different sounds, and yet still keep some of that comforting familiarity which is all their own. The album starts out with the almost techno "a pill", and all the songs following have its own distinct sounds, right until the last seconds of the last track ("ANSWER"). Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the theme of the album is about drugs? Overall I was not disappointed, and ID ATTACK will be playing on my CD player for a good long while. |
