Kim Rae Won and Jung da-bin (sadly no longer with us) were perfect in Rooftop. The two actors here are also perfect. There's a sweetness in the main female lead which endures after the last episode which ends nicely. Enjoy this drama over and over again.

February 22, 2007 Poignant Love StoryThis is a wonderful, magical love story so well done it could have been a feature. Jung Da-bin, who plays Nam Jeung-eun, committed suicide a week and a half ago. I've watched this show three times and it still has magic. It is sadly tragic that this wonderful actress is no longer with us. As the previous reviewer said she will be missed. I couldn't believe it when I saw her memorial photo with black bands on a KBS news show about her death. I still can't believe it happened.
My wife and I offer our sincerest condolences to her family, friends and fans.

December 11, 2006 Music to match the dramaThis OST is a great complement to the series. It's the second most popular show in Korea at present and the music on the OST matches the drama wonderfully. The main dramatic theme is track 12 and when it plays, especially during the scenes with Lee Tae Ran and Park Hae Jin you can't help but cry. The relationship bewteen their characters, Seochill and Hanam, is the heart of this drama and the music has the heart to match.

October 16, 2006 Pure in Heart music as wellThe OST for the KBS drama 'Pure in Heart' kas Ku Hye-sun singing tracks 1 & 8. She is also the star of the show,Yang Gukhwa. Track 7 is a beautiful melody which is the main dramatic theme of this wonderful drama. This is a worthwhile CD on its own and complements the TV drama beautifully. I hope Yes Asia will have the DVD set of the drama even if it is 150 half hour episodes. This show is nearly as memorable as 'Rooftop Room Cat' and Ku Hye-sun's performance is as memorable as Jung Da-bin's.

November 29, 2005 A masterpiece of storytellingThis drama is a masterpiece of storytelling. The production values, writing, directing and acting are incredible for a 54 episode story. This drama is as good as the best feature films. But it's the acting which raises this wonderful picture of Korean culture circa 1500 above the average. Lee Young Ae and Yang Mi Kyung are so genuine in their portrayals that you can't help but cry when they realize their true relationship and run toward each other. And your heart's broken when their relationship ends. Ji Jin Hee is perfect as Min Jung Ho who loves Jang Geum-a desperately. All the other actors are so good you can almost believe you're really watching history.
This drama is so rich in perseverance, honor, integrity, decency, good vs. evil and touching love stories that it is absolutely rivetting and addictive.
Thank you to the prodcution company and most especially to the writer and actors for this magnificent story of Korean history.

The scene where Han Suk Kyu looks out the cafe window with his hand out of focus trying to touch Shim Eun Ha outside on the street is hauntingly poignant. A beautiful film with great performances and production.
