joe is a really good singer! really liked how this cd had a lot of different styles of music...rock, rap, etc. it really is a very moody, interesting CD!! THANK YOU, MR. CHENG, FOR YOUR MUSIC!! FOR THIS CD 'I'M JOE'. IT REALLY IS A BRILLIANT, UNIQUE CD THAT WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE CDS EVER. You have brought love, hope, peace, and faith to me when i needed it. And GOD BLESS YOU for making this CD-- your music has brought happiness to many others, i'm sure! |

We need more album like this

This is my very first album of Joe Cheng although I have listened to his older songs before. This CD is surprisingly good and it is like fresh air. The two weakest songs are actually the more 'karaoke' style ones(track 5 & 6). The melody of trk 5 is good but Joe's voice is overwhelmed by the music. The strings, probably synthesized, of that song sounds weird too. Other than those two tracks, all the other less mainstream tracks are wonderful. The brilliant jazz piano and female backing vocal of track 7 are something rare in Cantonese CDs. Overall this CD is full of energy and creative power, and you can see that Joe is trying to make something different and something of quality. The songs (track 10 as an example) are not glossly polished like many pop songs, but that actually makes them more interesting. If you like Anthong Wong Yiu Ming kind of music, don't miss this one. You just don't know if Joe or someone will make another brilliant CD again. We need more CDs like this to keep the HK music scene alive. |

This guy haven't been singing for a while but he's pretty good...he sings and writes lyrics, this is something that surprises me. The plugged songs are good, for HONG KONG. I'd say this CD surprises me from top to bottom, at this value I bought a CD that makes real music, not a CD with a nice face in front of it. |
