Following the great success of the 2004 feature film Be With You (a.k.a. Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu) starring Takeuchi Yoko and Nakamura Shido, the touching story was adapted into a popular television drama. In the drama version, Narimiya Hiroki (NANA) and Mimura (A Heartful of Love) play the fate-crossed lovers, while child actor Akashi Takei, who also appeared in the film, reprises his role as the couple's son. Based on a novel by Ichikawa Takuji, Be With You presents a quiet romance, both heartbreaking and uplifting, that has won over audiences throughout Asia.
After the death of his wife Mio (Mimura), Takumi (Narimiya Hiroki) is left to take care of his six-year-old son Yuji (Akashi Takei). Though a bit sickly and absentminded, Takumi manages to get by, and father and son live a quiet, uneventful life together. Before she passed away, Mio mysteriously wrote in her picture book that she would return on a rainy day one year later. Takumi and Yuji wait in hope, and on that day, they encounter in the rain someone who looks exactly like Mio, but she has no recollection of her past.
