　　少女愛麗絲，身患絕症字之時日無多，徵得母親同意，欲完成她看到完整世界的心願，在褓母夏太太陪伴之下到達香港。青年泰倫，自幼即為孤兒，由鄰居婆婆扶養長大，後得瑪神父之照顧，曾在教會學校工讀，後因故輟學獨自謀生。彼因飽受社會之煎熬，終於物入歹徒之圈套，為人指使而誤殺良民，在森嚴法律之下，被判死刑.....

　　Young Alice, officiated with an incurable disease, has her parent's consent to see the world. Accompanied by her governess Mrs. Hsia, she arrives in Hong Kong. She has a chance meeting with a jail-breaker Tai Lun, ad as if by telepathy, they fall in love at first sight. Tai Lun, an orphan brought up by his grandmother in his neighborhood, has arranged with Father Ma to study at a missionary school. Subsequently he keeps bad company, and is sentenced to death for accidental killing.

　　The two lovers bill and coo in a cosy restaurant, and forget about the threats of death. Tai Lun goes back to the church, his only home, and is taken to task by Father Ma for risking his life to fool around with an innocent girl, while Alice is persuaded by governess in the hotel.
