Undeniably one of the greatest pop-divas of K-pop, In Soon I epitomizes the beauty of enduring human spirit. Born to a Caucasian father and Korean mother, growing up in Korea has not been easy for the singer. Debuting in 1978, In Soon I went on to top the charts, but then her career hit a slump during the '90s when R&B and hip-hop began to dominate the market. Feeling lost, the singer soon found herself in great despair until fellow artist Park Jin Young offered her the opportunity to delve in soul music. The result: In Soon I's return to the stage.

Anthology 97-08 sums up this legendary diva's career-defining achievements over the last decade. When most veteran singers chose to remain in their comfort zone, In Soon I boldly took on the challenge of revamping her style and experimenting with new and unfamiliar territory. Working hand in hand with some of the best composers in the business, like Kim Dong Ryul, Park Geun Tae, Jo PD, and Choi Jun Young, this two-disc collection offers a kaleidoscope of different musical styles. Electronica musicians Jeppet and Blue Sorbet whip out their funky remix of Tonight (CD 2 - Track 1), the album's principle track which is already garnering much attention and being touted as In's next chart-grabbing smash. Other highlights include her most recent hits Gurwieh ggeum ("A Goose's Dream")(CD1 - Track 1), an inspirational uplifting ballad, and "Dear Friend" (CD 2 - Track 7), a chart-topping duet number with Jo PD, plus Dolorosa (CD 1 - Track 7) and some memorable covers like Kim Gun Mo's Sarangyee Ddeonaganae (CD 1 - Track 11), Park Nam Jung's Beeeh Seuchin Naldeul (CD 2 - Track 10), and Natalie Cole's Love (CD 2 - Track 2).

‘거위의 꿈’ 등 전곡 리마스터링으로 음질 복원

인순이 음악 생활의 핵심이 되는 지난 10년간의 음악생활을 정리하는 베스트 앨범 '인순이 Antholohy 97~08'이 발매 되었다. 이번 음반은 80년대 스탠다드 팝 싱어로써 입지를 다지던 인순이가 90년대에 새롭게 등장한 R&B와 Hiphip등의 신세대 음악을 구사하는 뮤지션들과 조우하면서 그 다양한 역량을 재조명 받기 시작한 뒤의 음악세계를 총망라한 작품이다. 그런 의미에서 이번 앨범은 그녀의 음악적 변신이 시작된 90년대와 2000년대의 가요의 수준을 지표 삼는 기념비적인 앨범이며 이적, 김동률, 박근태. 조PD, 최준영 등 장르를 뛰어 넘은 당대 최고의 작곡가들을 한 앨범에서 만날 수 있는 보기 드문 앨범이다. 2CD로 구성된 한정판과 함께 하일라이트를 간추린 1CD 일반판 역시 함께 발매 하여 그녀의 골수팬과 가요팬을 함께 아우를 수 있게 제작되었다. 지난해 최고의 발라드 히트곡으로 군림한 ‘거위의 꿈’의 CD 최초수록이라는 의미 외에도 조PD와 함께 메가히트를 기록한 ‘친구여’, 드라마 종합병원의 OST에 수록되었던 ‘혼자만의 사랑’의 원곡인 ‘Dolorosa’, 신승훈, 이기찬, 이수영 등의 프로듀서였던 ‘Postino’가 편곡한 김건모의 ‘사랑이 떠나가네’, 인순이 공연의 최고 인기 레퍼토리로 손꼽히는 박남정의 ‘비에 스친 날들’과 Natalie cole의 ‘love’는 발매 당시 ‘에뛰드 cf’에도 쓰였던 그녀의 ‘JAZZ’ 앨범 버전으로 수록되어 있다. 앨범의 타이틀곡인 ‘Tonight (Jeppet wtsh mix)’는 평소 인순이를 존경해 오던 실력파 일렉트로닉 뮤지션 Jeppet(제펫)과 Blue Sorbet(블루샤벳)에 의해 리믹스버전으로 탄생해 ‘친구여’ 이후 또 다른 댄스 넘버 히트곡의 탄생을 예고하고 있다. 또한 모든 수록곡은 소닉코리아에서 리마스터링을 거쳐 최고의 음질로 재탄생 되었다.
