    My favorite Emil Chau album Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
    For years I have owned four CDs by Emil Chau and have played them often. I was surprised when I recently realized that I hadn't purchased a new Emil CD since 1997! In order to catch up with my old musical friend, I scouted around and bought this album. I definitely was not disappointed.

    "In the Rain" is the most consistently excellent of all of the Emil Chau CDs I own. The songs are sweet and Emil's singing suits them perfectly. I particularly enjoyed the second cut, "Time", and Emil's lovely rendition of Bert Bacharach's "What the World Needs Now". The latter demands an unusual combination of musical sophistication and wistfulness that Emil pulls off brilliantly. The only cut that I skip is "Wake Up", which is a bit too fluffy for my tastes.

    This album provides a cornucopia of well-crafted songs, beautiful arrangements, skillful playing, and soulful singing. Very highly recommended.
