Lee Shin-young (Lee Mi-yeon) who is filed under the case #2234 has received the death penalty for the murder of her husband, but doesn't make any attempts to defend herself. She is peaceful, like a person waiting for death.

Suh Jun-ha (Park Shin-yang) is a lawyer with a bright future ahead of him. Just before he goes to go study abroad, he is suddenly appointed as court attorney of Lee Shin-young. Her attitude differs from other defendants.

Because "Indian Summer" carries the elements of traditional films, its dramatic structure stands out above all. This differentiates the movie from more recent melodramas that try to integrate different genres or those that have the tendency to rely on emotional details.

2234번 피고인 이신영. 남편 살해 혐의로 사형선고를 받았지만, 자신을 위한 모든 변호를 거부, 죽음을 기다리는 사람처럼 평온하다. 변호사 서준하. 출세길이 보장된 해외연수를 기다리는 동안, 이신영의 항소심 국선변호를 맡는다. 여느 피고인과는 다른 신영의 태도. 그는 그녀의 차가운 눈빛을 잊지 못한다. 항소심 첫 재판 날, 갑자기 재판을 거부하는 이신영. 재판은 중지되고 신영은 독방에 감금된다. 준하는 그녀의 모든 사건 파일을 뒤지기 시작한다.
준하는 해외연수도 포기하고, 신영의 흔적을 찾아 동분서주한다. 자신을 위해 애쓰는 준하의 모습을 보며 신영은 점점 그를 보기가 힘겹다. 준하의 노력으로 항소심은 무죄판결이 나고, 차가운 교도소 밖 햇살 가득한 남해바다에서 둘은 처음으로 변호사와 피고인이 아닌, 남자와 여자로 만난다.

Because of Park Shin Yang, i decided i buy this film and watch it but to my dismay,its not wortg my time. The story is not so good. Suggest to just borrow a copy.

I can't say I like this film at all. There are a few little bits which were nice and the male lead did well. However the female lead is very annoying and cannot achieve any sympathy from the viewers. The ending is rubbish.

This movie was very graphic with blood scenes and the ending was horrible. If it had ended realistically I would have really enjoyed this movie. However, it just was unterly retarded. I couldn't sleep all night after watching it because of the blood and the ending. As far as the acting, music, and scenery it was very well done. In fact, the acting was superb.

Watch this movies on DVD, you will love it! The story is a bit slow (as ususal to all romantic korea movies) but the story line, the background music (esp at the start of the movies) and the excellent acting skills of the actor/actress will melt your heart........at the end of it, you will know what is meant by Indian Summer.
