當瑪格在後園興建了一所小型玩具屋給女兒後，離奇的事情逐一發生。每晚屋內都會傳出怪聲，裂開的洋娃娃及貓的屍骸更隨處可見。替瑪格修理房子雜工艾佛更道出怪事均是「玩具凶靈」所為，但瑪格不加理會，後才得悉艾佛一家曾住此屋，父母更為凶靈所殺。不久，艾佛倒斃於瑪格的後園，遂相信凶靈的存在。為了保衛家園，決定跟「玩具凶靈」展開生死決鬥。
Broken dolls and dead cats are found around and creepy sounds at night when Meg completed a tiny playhouse in the backyard for her daughter. Handyman Iver, hired to fix up the house, warns Meg the ancient trolls are behind all these but is being ignored. Later, Meg discovers Iver once lived in the same house and where, ancient trolls killed his parents. When Iver turns up dead in the backyard, Meg can no longer ignore the threat of this evil. Meg and her family band together to make one final stand against the evil to keep their home from becoming…inhabited.
