Seven years ago, both of Kanon's (Horikita Maki) parents were killed and her house burned to the ground. Her older brother Yoji (Fukushi Seiji) was convicted for their parents' murder. Kanon has no memory of the traumatic incident, but she believes that her brother is innocent, and faithfully waits for his release. Quiet and introverted, Kanon likes to see people smile, but has little to smile about herself - until the day she meets Junya (Kitagawa Yujin), a kind-hearted teacher whose life revolves around caring for his comatose fiancee. Taking on a housekeeping job at his house, Kanon just wants to support Junya and see him smile, but can love stay innocent when the dark secrets of the past are slowly revealed?
