Fractured love story Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Interview", or "Dogma #7 Interview", as the DVD is labeled, is a film that subverts the viewers' expectations at every turn. The subversion starts right from the film's opening scene, in which we see a starkly lit group of people discussing what makes for a good opening scene in a movie. This scene then is repeated, with the dialogue fractured into a slightly different order.

The story then proceeds primarily through a series of interviews with different people. One of the interview subjects, played by the actress Shim Eun Ha, quickly siezes the viewers' imagination. Her ability to convey emotion with the barest flutter of an eyelid, pinching of the lips, or raising of an eyebrow is stunning.

As the story proceeds in its meandering, disjointed manner, we learn that Shim Eun Ha did not tell the truth about her life in her filmed interview. The interview film's director, effectively played by Lee Jung Jae, becomes fascinated with her as he seeks to learn more.

Ultimately, I suppose, the film, apart from its story of a growing love, is about the nature of truth and whether we make up our own truth as we go along. The film weaves a very complicated web of a story that probably will require multiple viewings to fully untangle. I can recommend it highly for fans of art house films. I also can recommend it to anyone who wants to be schooled in subtle, understated acting by the wonderful performance given by Shim Eun Ha.

dvd quality is very poor Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
tried to play on my samsung dvd (region1) player and audio quality was very poor. then i played on my region free dvd player would not play in half of the scenes?! i guess this is what you get for a giveaway version. anyhow the movie was strange. didnt like how they jumped around in time before the interview. i am a shim eun ha fan but i think this is one of her weakest performance. dont recommend buying this.

it tastes so good Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
it is just a coincidence to find the movie, but it had a so fantastic impression on me. the performance of actor"lee jung jae" led you into a different world,a world of his own thought.you will find a magic attraction from him through every motion, every word, every smile.yeah,in this movie he appears more tidy white teeth than ever.really, his smile tells you more. the words seem to unnecessary to him,the face told you all.

Good movie to watch a few times. Low-key, even low budget? Shim Eun-Ha's role in this movie was somewhat more fitting than the one in "Tell Me Something".

Good, but complex Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This film has a definite French new wave flavor in how scenes are presented and then repeated in a more complete context so the viewer can better understand the story. It concerns a director and staff who interview people about their view of love for their movie, along with their behind-the-scenes work. But this is not a documentary--it is a love story. Shim Eun-ha is good as usual, deceptively mourning for a lost love; and the handsome worldly director who becomes fascinated with her. VCD transfer is decent.
