YesAsia Editorial Description
Chang Cheh directs Invincible Shaolin, a rousing kung-fu picture that reunites the legendary director with his most famous martial arts actors, the Venoms! Fearing the rising Shaolin influence in China, a Manchurian general plots to pit the Northern and Southern Shaolin factions against one another. Contestants are called for a martial arts competition, but the general murders the Southern contestants and hints that the Northern Shaolin were the killers. More Southern Shaolin are dispatched, and this time the Northern Shaolin dispatch the Southern Shaolin in self-defense! Eventually, the Southern Shaolin train three fighters with the sole purpose of settling this conflict. But will they manage to discover the Manchurian general's plot before more unnecessary blood is shed? Chang Cheh brings back the Venoms (actors Lu Feng, Sun Jian, Chiang Shen, Philip Kwok, Wei Pai, and Law Mong) for Invincible Shaolin, an entertaining Shaw Brothers film that melds Chang Cheh's celebrated themes of honor and brotherhood with outstanding martial arts action!

THE UNBEATABLE VENOMS FILM
I consider myself an obsessive collector when it comes to the venoms, and although i have all of their films "Invincible Shaolin" is the greatest display of their amazing talents.Every venom gets a chance to shine in this film. The finale is without question the best the venoms have ever done.Chiang Sheng's use of the butterfly pole is absolutely incredible in this film.It is a shame that he never used this weapon in another venoms film...but then maybe that is another special thing about this masterpiece.

Invincible Shaolin

An excellent example of Chang Cheh's work. This film is almost as good as Cripped Avengers, Shaolin Martial Arts and 5 Vemons. |

a lot of fun
This is my favorite Shaw brothers movie so far. The action is stellar and the training sequences are the best I've ever seen. Each of the Venoms is great, but Chiang Sheng impressed me the most. He was my least favorite in Five Venoms, so his performance in this film was a pleasant surprise. Chang Cheh gives us what we want, a lot of action and a lot of blood (watch out for that chest rip).

Another shaolin kung fu flicks
The film is good but not great. Quite worthwhile for watching for those who prefer traditional solid martial arts. Exciting and the ending is rather sad whereby the two parties of shaolin masters fight each other manipulated by the villian Manchu royal members.

invincible shaolin
Another stereotyped Chang Cheh's Shaolin movie - the misunderstanding between two tribes which ended in bloody feud. The only impression I had for this movie is Lo Meng who went through tough martial art training to seek avenge for his dead counterparts. OK to watch for those kung fu fans.
