Professional Review of "Iroiro Goromo (Japan Version)"

Spitz "Iroiro Goromo"- Music with Style Inheriting their own tradition of having unique CD jackets, Spitz this time bring you a calf, a piece of pigment, one key and a box of matches on "Iroiro Goromo". Bizarre and unrelated as they may seem, these objects are indeed the symbol of the life style and the school of arts that Spitz promote. Without further ado, let's dive into the musical world Spitz presents on "Iroiro Goromo". Bearing a different theme on each tune, the 14-track "Iroiro Goromo" is not at all at sixes and sevens but a symphony of differential emotions and moods. What starts the musical journey is "Stargazer". The first story told by the flowing guitar seems to represent the optimism of Spitz towards life. All songs on this album are the masterpieces of Spitz's lead singer Kusano Masamune with the second track "Hi-fi Low-fi (NEW MIX)" being one of the most outstanding ones. Not only does the cozy feeling make it stand out of the album but it also offers surprises brought about by the key alternation. While both of them give a sense of nostalgia, "Ears of Rice (NEW MIX" (Track 3) and "Fish" (Track 4) do not lose touch to bring the musical inspiration into everyday life with their catchy melodies. "Moonlight" (Track 5)" carries a breath of fresh air onto this album by its alternate Latin beat. With Sakiyama Tatsuo on the drums, "Seishun Ikinokori GameSurvival Game of Youth (NEW MIX)" (Track 7) literally rocks up the Spitz party. "Dreams Catching Bugs" (Track 13) is another high quality piece of music. Even the ballads are no ordinary ones on the Spitz cruise. "SUGINAMI MELODY", being one of them, is written in the rhythm of marching. Tracks Recommended: "Ears of Rice (NEW MIX)", "SUGINAMI MELODY", "Fish" & "Dreams Catching Bugs" Reviewed by: Doris (Hong Kong) Translated by Holly (Hong Kong) |
