黃麒英父子無辜捲入漩渦，黃麒英從當地民間百姓的口中，獲悉鐵馬騮乃劫富濟貧的俠盜，更與楊大夫﹝鐵馬騮﹞結下相惜的俠情。
衍空佈下天羅地網，力擒鐵馬騮，鐵負傷頑抗逃出生天，半途卻遇上黃麒英，更被黃當場揭穿真正身份……。
When the 19th Century is grinding towards its last years, the Manchu dynasty in China is also in its dying gasps. Corruption is rampant. The officials run roughshod over the people. Justice is gone. But Yang, a herbal doctor, takes justice and law into his own hands. The people call this Public Hood of China the Iron Monkey.
The officials go to the Huang father and son, famous Kung fu teachers, for help. The move they hear about the exploits of the Monkey must be right. The Huangs meet Dr. Yang by accident. They become friends. Hsien Kung traps the Iron Monkey. Father Huang rescues the Monkey but son Huang is caught by Hsien Kung and held as hostage. Father Huang's comes to rescue his son. He is not Hsien Kung's match. But at the sick of time, the Iron Monkey appears. Justice prevails finally.

Young Wong Fei Hong favorite
| I have a Taiseng release of this DVD which predates the US release & has a more original looking cover to it. This is definately a classic one & I wish Tsui Hark would have made more like this. Donnie Yen & Yu Rong Gwong are awesome to watch. Unfortunate there are speeded up fight scenes but it doesn't take away from the beauty of the postures the martial artists have to offer. Excellent story from start to finish giving appropriate pacing & time to bond with practically every character. |

unbelievable
| This movie is one of the best i have seen.Its got a cool storyline and the action is great.Im very impressed with the actor Yu Rong Guang,he is such a cool actor and good kung fu fighter.I think he is underestimated |

best film ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
| When i first watched this film i thought wow!!! the martial arts was brilliant right at the start when Leung Ka Yan was thrashing the 4 fake monks. In this film, they have combined comedy with action. Not only their lines were hilarious, but also their moves, especially Donnie Yen at the start. I especially like the kid. He was not strong but tactical. |

| Won't be bad, if I can remember the whole story. Memories that what I need it now. Only things like, I have watching it twice a long time ago, maybe ten years. I don't know. Help me, if I am wrong. Isn't it a good movie? |

Great film
| I've always been a big fan of these types of films and I must say the thing that stands out most about this film is the final fight scene(it is unbelieable how this fight scene was filmed). |
