Rising Taiwanese idols Joe Cheng (The Rose) and Ariel Lin (Love Contract) jointly present the romantic drama It Started with a Kiss! Like many other popular romantic TV series, this TV adaptation of a Japanese manga was very well received in Taiwan when it was broadcast in 2005. The story starts with a high-school girl with a crush on her classmate who has an IQ of 200. She confesses her love to him, but that only makes her the laughing stalk at school. It turns out, however, that their parents are actually very good friends and, due to various developments, they end up living under the same roof. What will happen to them? Maybe everything just starts with a kiss!

About the Malaysia version: Even though it is not stated on the cover of the Malaysian version of "It Started With A Kiss" from Speedy Video, the DVD has English subtitles! It was explained to me that it was a print mistake. The English subtitles are good, but some times a sentence is not translated. It doesn't make the conversations non-understandable; you're still able to follow. It just confuses for a second because you're used to reading the subtitles that suddenly aren't there. But please don't let this keep you from buying it. It's a wonderful drama; one of my absolute favorites. And the English subtitles are really good. The cover is reversed so that the front is where the back usually is (for Westerners). |

Great Drama

Like most of the other reviewers, I also loved this drama. The ending is by far my favorite compared to other dramas. Joe and Ariel are great together and I always feel happy watching this. My only complaint would have to be the quality of this China Version. After episode 10, the subtitles changed from traditional to simplified but thats not really a problem. The quality of the images were very grainy. I don't know, maybe I got a defective set of dvds. But the drama itself is great. For 42.99, its definetly worth it. |

I loved this movie...one of the funniest movie i've seen...loved the ending, it was so funnie...i won't spoil it for anyone...ariel and joe makes such a cute couple...ariel is so funnie n cute...n joe...he is so hot...this movie is one of the best...can't wait till part 2 of this movie comes out... |

bought this show for my g-friend as a gift. she told me she hates this show. she gave it back to me. she ain't want it. i thought lots of girls like this show. and my g-friend likes to watch shows from Taiwan. that got me the idea to get this show for her as a christmas gift. she gave it back to me after she finish watch it. okay long story. i decide to watch it to see why she don't like it. just finished watching the whole thing in a couple of days. there are some funny parts. like the part when Ariel keeps going to the restaurant Joe works in and that smart chick who likes Joe is a waitress there too. that waitress gave a big huge order of food and dessert to Ariel. Ariel tries to force herself to eat all the food. that was ridiculous. the other parts made the show feel dull and slow and draggy. now i know why my g-friend don't like the show. and this show is too much of a chick show. i won't be keeping it. |

Everyone likes it, and I am no exception, I just simply love this series, love it due to its youthfulness and simplicity. The acting was ok (I guess they don't need much acting skills on this), and the songs are all great. This series is not so impressive, but what's good in it is that it'll give you a nice feeling after watching. |
