Rising Taiwanese idols Joe Cheng (The Rose) and Ariel Lin (Love Contract) jointly present the romantic drama It Started with a Kiss! Like many other popular romantic TV series, this TV adaptation of a Japanese manga was very well received in Taiwan when it was broadcast in 2005. The story starts with a high-school girl with a crush on her classmate who has an IQ of 200. She confesses her love to him, but that only makes her the laughing stalk at school. It turns out, however, that their parents are actually very good friends and, due to various developments, they end up living under the same roof. What will happen to them? Maybe everything just starts with a kiss!

袁湘琴（林依晨飾）是一個單純開朗的高中女學生，自從在開學典禮上看見代表新生致詞的江直樹（鄭元暢飾）後，便不由自主地喜歡上這個號稱IQ200的超級天才少年。經過兩年多的暗戀，她鼓足勇氣在學校中對他表白，卻遭到他無情的拒絕，更由於她的莽撞，一時間成了全校的笑柄。然而屋漏偏逢連夜雨，就在湘琴告白被拒後，剛遷入的新家竟然被地震震垮了！
眼看湘琴和相依為命的父親要露宿街頭了，幸好父親的國中好友阿利叔（張永正飾）慷慨伸出援手，邀請父女兩人到他家中暫住，但是湘琴萬萬沒有想到，和藹可親的阿利叔竟然是江直樹的父親！於是在這樣的機緣巧合下，兩個人就此展開同在一個屋檐下的全新生活……

Great Drama
|
Like most of the other reviewers, I also loved this drama. The ending is by far my favorite compared to other dramas. Joe and Ariel are great together and I always feel happy watching this. My only complaint would have to be the quality of this China Version. After episode 10, the subtitles changed from traditional to simplified but thats not really a problem. The quality of the images were very grainy. I don't know, maybe I got a defective set of dvds. But the drama itself is great. For 42.99, its definetly worth it. |

| I loved this movie...one of the funniest movie i've seen...loved the ending, it was so funnie...i won't spoil it for anyone...ariel and joe makes such a cute couple...ariel is so funnie n cute...n joe...he is so hot...this movie is one of the best...can't wait till part 2 of this movie comes out... |

NICE COMEDY
|
This is my first taiwanese series... fortunately i enjoyed the series. Joe Cheng is terribly gorgeous, looks more beautiful than Ariel. But the combination of the two are amazing. If you want to have fun, light mood, you better not miss the series. The ending is quite unexpected. It really made me laugh to the bones. Great comedy. |

this movie is very outstanding and very romantic!!!! i love it and i hope they!ll make another movie that they are both in it.I have been watching it over and over i never get tired of it and i really recommend it to all who like comedy and romantic movie.i truly love love love it so much and I'll like watching it over and over again!!!! good work and goodluck for Joe Chang and Areil Lin |

Loved it

At first I was not sure about it. Both main characters are not the most attractive at first sight, but they quickly grow on you, just like the whole cast. The story line is very simple but keeps you entertained with comedy. It is not a overly lovey dovey drama but that is the best thing about it! It makes you feel the joy the main female character feels each time the main male character give her a little affection. And many times I find myself smiling like an idiot because Joe actually smiled at her or did something unexpected. The acting was fantastic and the OST was amazing. I too have seen the Japanese version, but I think this was was better because it had more time to develop the characters. By the end of the taiwaness version, I was laughing myself silly and I felt like celebrating with the characters! If yesasia sold a english subtitled version of this, I would definitely buy the whole set of drama, even if I have to borrow money from somone! |
