Jam Films II contains four short films by the hottest music video and commercial directors working in Japan right now. Each short film is about 30 minutes long, a way to give these directors a way to direct something longer than their usual format. The films are all distinctive in style, with each director injecting their own personal style and techniques into their works. Featuring a soundtrack that includes top musicians such as Mr. Children, Yellow Monkey and Kirinji, this is one of the most innovative projects from the top creative talents of Japan! This DVD also includes special features such as Making of featurette, trailers, Cast and Crew biographies and footage from premieres of the films!

The Short Films in this collection are:

  • Empty Theory on a Desk directed by Kojima Junji, starring Katagiri Jin, Kobayashi Kentaro, Ichikawa Mikako. A comedic film starring comedians Ramens.
  • Clean Room directed by Takahashi Eiki, starring Kan Hanae and Aso Kumiko. A fantasy story about a girl who cocoons herself in a clean room and a strange woman suddenly appears in the room…
  • HOOPS MEN SOUL directed by Inoue Hidenori, starring Suga Takamasa, Suho Reiko and Omori Nao. A face paced short about a man who tries to rescue his girlfriend from a debt collector.
  • Fastener directed by Tange Kouki starring Arioka Daiki, Takagi Rima and Shiina Eihi. The short is inspired by Mr. Children’s song “Fastener”, and it’s a moving story about a boy who becomes an ‘adult’ after his first kiss.

    Nice Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
    Overall a pretty fine little slice of film making. My personal fave was Armchair Theory - hilarious! It alone makes it worth the five bucks - you just have to see it. For some reason it makes me think of Adam Sandler stuff. Maybe it has a very quirky, "American" sense of humor to it. The others on this film are good too, except for "Clean Room" which is SO not worth taking 30 minutes out of your life to watch. Sayonara!
