I thought this movie comes out to be very good, I'm surprised it didn't grasp a lot of attention in HK box office. This is even better than a lot of those stupid special effects, or high-budget movies. Daniel Wu's acting is very good. The TVB actress Maggie Cheung surprises me with her performance, glad that she's acting in movies now. She have a future.

Purple Storm
March 12, 2001 Very interestingThe plot is interesting. The special effect is impressive. Sound effect is good, no doubt. But the acting doesn't quite meet the expectations. Even Joan Chen didn't give an outstanding performance like one would expect she would. Kam Kwok Leung and Daniel Wu did well. Emil Chau's always-surprising expression gets dull sometime. And one big complain is that too many actors in the movie try too hard to look cool, such as the ATF team with Patrick Tam, Michael Tong, Allan Mo, Moses Chan, and such. Even Josie Ho played her role too stereotypically. Anyway, great movie, but the acting could have been better.

Troublesome Night 9
March 9, 2001 Cool movieNot scary, not a big production, so what's cool? The plot is interesting, good twist, good directing, good acting by Maggie, Simon, and Law Lan.
