November 30, 2006 a few songs makes it worth itHonestly, although I am a huge Ayu fan, this album, in my opinion, wasn't her best. There are some songs that, while good, seem generic and in styles that have been done by others. However, with that said, there are the few gems on the album that makes it worth the buy. The couple that pops up on top of my head is JEWEL and secret. These couple songs are absolutely fantastic, and classic Ayu, in that they are original, and emotional. There are also a few others definitely worth the listen. So although not an album that can satisfy everybody with every song, it is still a very good choice. Did you find this review helpful? June 23, 2006 one of ayu's bestthis single, in continuing 'startin/born to be', proves ayu still has it. blue bird reminds me of the ayu of 'old'. the title track is fantastic. very upbeat and conjures up a relaxed and fun feel, which fits the title, and the season. beautiful fighters is a good funky track, kind of louder than blue bird, but good still. the remix to ladies night is great as well. basically a hardcore version.
nothing can be said about the poster. it is absolutely a piece of art.
the videos on the DVD? in short, the two videos can be summed up like this: one is Ayu + bikini + Hawaii, and the other is Ayu + tight outfit + musclecars. enough said.

the big stand out on this dvd is the amazing video quality. it looks like high definition, no joke. however, the reason i did not give it full points (9/10) is that there was not enough extras included. perhaps it is because of this high definition video which would've made it impossible to fit more things on the dvd. the sound is great too, with dolby 5.1 no less.

Startin' is an upbeat, strong song, where as Born To Be is more leaning towards the 'inspirational' feel. Make sense, since this particular song was used in the Winter Olympics TV program in Japan. The song "Teens" is a cover version. But it is quite the gem. It really shows the amazing emotion Ayu puts into her singing. As for the videos, Startin' is fun. But I really cannot be too positive with Born To Be. However, Ayu look gorgeous in Startin', so it's still worth the $2 to get the DVD as well. There seem to have been some worries, since the relative low sales for the previous single (Bold and Delicious), but her "(miss)understood" album threw that right back at the doubters, and this single should erase all shred of doubt that Ayu is still #1. (11)Our Price: US$25.99Usually ships within 1 to 2 daysRelated promotions:January 24, 2006 Once again......ayu has made something special. this concert is very enjoyable, despite her vocal not being as good as can be (in my opinion). the costumes are good, and the stage is nice. the emotion that ayumi displays, however, is the most striking point of this concert, especially during the song "memorial address." perhaps the rumor that the song was written about her late father is true. it does not measure quite up there with her newer concerts, such as Arena Tour 2005, but it's still good nontheless. For any Ayu fan, this is a must have, to feel the deep emotions if nothing else. For anyone else, this is a good way to get over any stereotypes of Ayu, and have her touch your heart. January 8, 2006 What An AlbumAfter waiting so long for this album to arrive, I find that it is worth the wait. There are so many different styles of music, yet all are great, and theres not one track to skip. The DVD has plenty of great videos, as well as fun "Making of's..." Although there are mixed feelings about the PV "Ladies Night" I find it fun, in a sort of demented way. The whole album sets itself apart from any 'typical' sounds of modern popular music. (10)Our Price: US$24.75Related promotions:December 31, 2005 ExcellentThis concert dvd was a gift from a friend for birthday, and wow, what a gift it turned out to be. the costumes were amazing, and her voice was really strong too. the arena didnt seem as spectacular as some of her other ones, and there were slight reverberations in the accoustics, but still good nontheless. the energy level of ayu in this concert is amazing. she seems to go non-stop (perhaps 2 intermissions that were omitted of course), and it seems she gets even more energetic as the concert goes on. the dvd extras were a bit lacking, but the concert is worth it by itself. Perhaps waiting for the new album would be good, but if you're an Ayu fan, you cant miss this single's photos, which are just as good as the songs and the PVs.
