第23日，地獄蝙蝠捕食的最後一天。載著一群高中年籃球隊的旅遊巴士，在曠無人煙的「東九公路」疾駛而行，車上的年輕男女卻不知道已踏進了冷酷祭典的陷阱。巴士車輪突然爆破，他們被逼滯留在酷熱的公路上，車內無線電通話器不停傳來怪聲，眾人手機失靈...
Taggart and his sons Billy and Jack work in their cornfield punching posts to hand scarecrows in the dusk. They're not alone. One of the scarecrows spreads its wings and snatches Billy with its talons as it flies into the darkening sky.
The Bannon High School basketball team and their cheerleaders are about to find this out when their bus gets a flat tire on a deserted highway. The bus driver discovers an ancient star-shape relic has punctured the tire. Back on the farm, Jack discovers a similar star where his brother was killed...
