November 8, 2007 OK but......I get it, the movie is taking risks and artistically it is interesting but unless you are going into with this in mind, the entertainment value is not that high. It is quite frustrating that the two main characters do not talk in the entire movie. Which is fine, but there is no explanation as to why. Why are they breaking into people's houses and doing good deeds. Is he a hallucination she has created, it seems to be the case. I felt the movie was a bit slow and a bit boring but that was just me. I realize it has gotten stellar reviews so if you are intrigued by unique and artistic storylines then this one will suit you just fine. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

November 7, 2007 Watch it for Kim Jae Won...As a k-drama this one is pretty typical. Standard storyline and plot devices, completely predictable nothing new here. Kim Jae Won however, is fantastic. As usual, this cutie delivers a stellar performance from his sweet smiles to his tragic tears. The rest of the cast was mediocre at best. Over acting and dramatization sets the pace for this story but that was pretty typical for 2002. Luckily K-dramas have made some progress since then. The biggest flaw this drama has is the leading lady. I could not get past her looks. She was suppose to be a beauty but was really quite unattractive with her bad hair and big face. She looked way older than Jae Won's character. It is too bad because I liked her in Stained Glass but here she falls flat. I didn't find her cute or endearing, just plain and annoying. August 25, 2007 WOW!This drama is one of the best K-dramas of all time. The premise is two girls who both want to be anchors for the news. One is plain yet sweet, the other is beautiful yet dark (picture an evil Asian Uma Thurman). The drama depicts the struggles that each girl faces as they try to achieve there dreams. One will risk everything to get what she wants, the other achieves hers through her dedication and strong moral ethics. This drama has everything you could want from a K-drama; love, betrayal, comedy and tears. The acting is outstanding and it moves at a fast enough pace that you won't get bored. Buy it because it is definitely one you will re-watch. Han-Jae-Suk is incredible and plays such a different role than he did in Glass Slipper. It feels entirely different from many dramas with its realistic acting style (no over-the-top crying and whining), and its fantastic dancing (which is an extra bonus to the film). It deals with a group of young people trying to make it big in the entertainment industry and how much of yourself you have to sell or lose to accomplish that. I found this to be very well scripted and moved at a relatively fast pace. There were a couple episodes that seemed to drag as they transitioned but overall I was glued to the screen. I saw that the story paralleled a bit with the lives of actual Korean music artists such as Rain and Se7en (this is glaringly obvious when Rex puts his hair in braids and a studded bandana......reminiscent of Rain's first concert). The cast was incredible, everyone did an incredible acting job and there were many layers to each character which made it interesting. It wasn't overly predictable like most, I was wondering who Sun-Woo was going to chose all along. I cried numerous times but not always out of sadness. The actress who played Sun-Woo was so incredible and captivating that she literally stole the show. I even really loved the side characters in this drama. The only reason I give it 9 out of 10 is the ending. This is just a personal preference. Truly, there isn't anything wrong with this ending at all but I love happy endings and this definitely did not have a traditional "happy ending". August 14, 2007 ZZZZZ.....................I have watched many MANY Korean dramas and even some of the not so good ones still beat American television but I really did not care for this drama. I originally decided to watch it because of the cast. I had seen them all in dramas before and find them to be incredible actors and actresses. However, combined in this drama they just seem to fall a bit flat. It starts off fairly strong and I really enjoyed it for about 6 episodes and then it just loses something. I am not sure if it is the over dramatic melodrama, the tired storyline or the fact that I don't feel the emotion between the characters. It just kind of stretches on until you are so tired of crying, whining and backstabbing that you sit in a drooling stupor too dumbfounded to turn it off. I will not share the ending but it is like poorly written American soap opera. I would definitely stick with other dramas from this cast such as "Full House" and "Sangdoo Let's go to School" Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
