If you love and miss Loveholic, please try this album by the lead singer. Don't be discouraged in thinking she's changed since she's gone solo. (Many people tend to be cautious of lead singers leaving their group to do solo work.) The Loveholic feel is still there. Just as Alex keeps his feel when he goes solo from Clazziquai, Ji Sun is no different. She keeps the perfect balance between ballads and her smooth techno feel. The balance is soothing and you feel embraced by Ji Sun's world. It really makes you soar. Polaris (the final song on the album) is amazing and is the perfect way to end the cd. It's a song I'd listen to if I were walking outside on a bright sunny day, yet feeling down. This would make me forget my troubles and look at the sky. If you are an Loveholic fan, you'll love this album and if you are hearing Ji Sun for the first time, it makes you want to find more of her work. Explore Ji Sun... ^^ |

A terrific solo debut
| Yes, it is every bit as good as you'd hoped! In a departure from her work with Loveholic, Ji Sun here puts the emphasis on electronica. (It's a bit like The Brilliant Green's Kawase Tomoko in her Tommy february6 persona.) The album's thirteen songs contain a good mix of dance tracks and stirring pop ballads, with Ji Sun's voice sounding great throughout. She really blossoms as a solo artist! Her Loveholic fans will embrace this album, as, I suspect, will a younger audience drawn to her dancefloor-ready uptempo numbers. It all sounds new and fresh and I like it a lot. |
