September 9, 2006 Good but not great.I should first mention that I LOVED Fiona's "F Debut" - all the songs there were a little different and managed to pull different moods from me. The slow songs on Electric Angel don't do that. They are a little plain and there's just something missing her voice. It almost sounds like she hit puberty, since her voice is a little lower and has lost that airy quality. In fact, in some instances I found her voice comparable to Stephanie Cheng [like in the bonus track], but of course at least a hundred times better. Finally, about half her songs sound like something I've already heard, which is sad because Fiona has been pulling strong for awhile without things like that actually bothering me.
With that said, I do like the first two tracks to a certain extent, mainly because I hear that voice I love mixed around to become a different sound. I hope her next album will show a better balance and control, and please stop sounding like Stephanie Cheng.
