Jung Yup Vol. 1 - Thinkin’ Back On Me

Following in the footsteps of Na Ul, a fellow member of disbanded group Brown Eyed Soul, Jung Yup arrives with his debut album. The vocalist has spared no efforts to come up with a release full of R&B flavor, for which he penned, composed, and produced all songs. Supporting him on his musical journey are top Korean jazz music artists, including singer-songwriter pianist Eco Bridge and saxophonist Jang Hyo Seok, as well as other well-known Korean musicians like Sam Lee and Park Joo Won. The result consists of thirteen songs including You Are My Lady, "Spring Day" (Track 12), and the duet "There Seems To Be No End" (Track 6) with vocal diva Gummy. Dedicated to Stevie Wonder, To Shy To Say is the closing song on Jung Yup's highly anticipated Thinkin' Back On Me.

UCC로 퍼진 콘서트 동영상으로 'Nothing Better' 신드롬을 일으켰던 브라운아이드소울의 맏형 정엽이 첫 솔로 앨범을 발표한다.

나얼이라는 이름으로 대표되는 브라운아이드소울 안에서 일정부분 인기의 공을 양보해야 했던 정엽. 하지만 해군 홍보단 시절부터 국내 최정상 알앤비 보컬리스트로 인정받아 왔던 정엽은 절제되어 있으면서도 깊이 있는 보이스를 통해 네오소울의 대표주자 맥스웰(Maxwell)과 비견되어 온 특출한 보이스의 소유자다.

맥스웰의 음악이 그렇듯 정엽의 첫 번째 앨범 또한 알앤비적 기교보다는 감성이 음악의 중심에 놓여 있다. 노래를 어떻게 얼마나 잘 부르냐를 고민하기보다는 대중과 어떻게 공감하고 자신만의 감성을 전달할 것인가를 고민했다는 정엽. 겸손함이 좌우명이라는 정엽은 그리하여 자신의 음악적 기반인 소울 음악에 집착하지 않고 대중과 함께할 수 있는 음악들로 첫 번째 앨범을 꾸몄다.
