만화책 원작이 있으나 원작보다는 애니메이션화 되면서 큰 인기를 모았던 엽기 코미디 작품이다. 영업용이라는 미소녀 얼굴 이면에 뭔가 못마땅해서 떫다는 듯한 띠꺼운 얼굴을 보이고 있는 구우와 그런 구우로 인해 맘고생(?)이 심한 하레의 이야기이다.

원래 하레는 맑은 날씨를 의미하는 말이고 구우는 흐린 날씨를 의미하는 일본어이다. 이름처럼 잘 나가던 하레의 맑고 쾌청한 인생이 구우를 만나면서 그야말로 먹구름 낀 인생으로 변해간다. 정글을 배경으로 펼쳐지는 에피소드라고 단순히 말하기에는 너무도 폭소 만발의 코미디 작품으로 특히 성우들의 목소리와 음향이 가미되면서 그 엽기스러움이 배가 되었다.
