In 1993, Taiwan's CTS produced the Bao Qing Tian series and it became an instant phenomenon throughout the Chinese-speaking world. Since then, numerous films and television series about the icon of unshakeable justice has been made, and 16 years later, the original's golden triangle of Jin Chao Chun (Judge Bao), Fan Hung Hsuan (Gongsun Ce), and Kenny Ho (Zhan Zhao) teamed up again for another exciting outing! Supported by a star-studded cast that includes popular Hong Kong actors Michael Tong, Eddie Kwan, Benny Chan, and Eric Suen, the new Bao Qing Tian series offers an updated retelling of the classic courtroom, wuxia, and detective drama that still feels as relevant as ever.

Judge Bao is assigned by the Emperor to investigate the whereabouts of a large sum of state money issued to a famine-stricken province for relief purpose. With the help of his advisor Gongsun Ce and enforcer Zhan Zhao, Judge Bao finds the culprit in corrupt aristocrat Pang Yu and executes him with the Dragon Head Guillotine. Afterwards, the Emperor recruits Zhan Zhao into the imperial court and bestows on him the title "Royal Cat", which arouses the displeasure of the infamous "Five Rats of the Xiankong Island", who think they are better than Zhan Zhao. Among these five roguish knights, the arrogant Bai Yutang forces Zhan Zhao into a martial arts duel by stealing Judge Bao's official seal...

Jin Chao Chun reprises his signature role as Justice Bao, while Kenny Ho and Fan Hung Hsuan return as heroic constabel Zhan Zhao and advisor Gongsun Ce, respectively. The serial consists of five stories that see Justice Bao and company investigating mysteries, cracking cases, and dealing poetic justice in the courtroom.
