The 2008 Fuji TV drama 33 Minute Detective (a.k.a. 33pun Tantei) starring KinKi Kids' Domoto Tsuyoshi returned for a four-episode sequel in 2009. In the popular series, Domoto stars as detective Kurama Rokuro, whose crime-solving skills are a tad on the slow side though. In every 33-minute episode, the mystery and the answer will be apparent in the first three minutes, but Kurama will spend the next 30 stoically bumbling through false leads and erroneous conjectures, making for an enjoyable and tongue-in-cheek alternative take on the detective comedy. Co-stars Mizukawa Asami (Nodame Cantabile, Last Friends) and Katsumi Takahashi both return for more case cracking in this special four-episode second season Kaette Kosaserareta 33pun Tantei, along with Sawamura Ikki and celebrity guest stars like Audrey, KNIGHTS, and Haruna Ai.
