YesAsia Editorial Description
This touching movie is based on the true life story of Yamada Kamachi. The extremely talented artist accidentally killed himself by an electric shock from his electric guitar at the tender age of 17 in 1997. Taniuchi Shinya from the popular group Lead portrays Kamachi, and other members of the band can also be seen in the movie.
Kamachi was totally in love with the fine arts especially poems, music and painting and his favorite phrase was "24 hours a day are not enough for me to do what I want to do". He started drawing pictures at the age of two and read his own poems to his mother when he was in the lower grades of elementary school. During his time in junior high he began listening to the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Queen and writing his own songs. After falling in love with a girl he expressed his feeling for her via paintings, poems, and music. Kamachi is still being admired today for his intensive way of life that has deeply influenced Japan's younger generations.

Customer Review of "Kamachi (Japan Version)"
January 29, 2005
| The show is really touching, and it really drives deep into the heart. There is a lot of meaning in each of the art that is portrayed, and delievers the message quite well. There is a bit of a problem with the camera works, but either than that, I find the movie quite splashing and heartwarming. It really makes me sad that this character was an actual character, because if Kamachi was still alive until now, I believe he would've been proud of this movie. |
