Five years after the release of her debut solo album, Kary Ng had her first date with major stardom on January 30, 2011, when she took to the stage of the Hong Kong Coliseum for the first time. It was an affirmation for the stylish singer formerly of the girl group Cookies and pop band Ping Pung, who treated the audiences to a spectacular rock music party in the prestigious venue. The concert now comes to DVD, allowing fans to treasure the memory of that special night when Kary spared no effort to return the favor of her fans with some wild costumes and a series of her greatest hits over the years. There are 23 songs on the 2-DVD set, including the recent hit "I Silly Girl" from her latest album Carry On, two songs performed with Ping Pung, and her first airplay chart-topper "Love Turns Into Hate". Also included is a 15-minute interview with Kary on the production of the concert.

Kary rocks! Eclectic Electric concert! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Kary’s 2011 ‘Kary On’ live DVD concert features an eclectic electric theatre ambience along with dazzling (hypnotising!) large screen video effects and vibrant lighting. Kary’s concert crew features backing band (electric guitar, drums etc), DJ unit and small orchestra and (as you’d expect) quite a number of songs from Kary’s latest ‘Carry On’ album and other previous studio outings (Lady K - Transformations etc), and some rock music with the band Ping Pung. In fact there's a full spectrum of live musical genres here: dance electro, ballads and rock. Commencing, Kary enters the stage upside down on a wire, then gyrating, dancing and strutting, motions like a sexy siren amongst her backing dancers to the first set of dance-oriented songs. Kary certainly shakes her thang, and even head bangs a bit on the two Ping Pung rock songs! I have to admit it was the lively songs from this concert I liked the most, as you get the full power of what Kary and her excellent engineers, lighting and technician crews, orchestra and band put on together (mesmerizing graphic visuals on backing screen! W*XoX*W!). Kary sings her heart out, too, and shows off some colourful futuristic gothic glam wear and even black ‘bondage’ clothing with her varied stage dress. Amongst the live set Kary sings “Bbiribbabba” on the second disk (fans of Brown Eyed Girls Narsha should like this one), but I found Kary’s show leaning more towards ballads here and there, especially near the end. But when this concert rocks, it certainly ROCKS with good musicianship and Kary’s super sexy dance routines backed up with good support dancers and sensual choreography routines.

It’s a very energetic concert. A wee too many ballads I thought, but Kary, albeit a few nervous vocals, works her heart out to put on a good performance, and it shows a great deal by her grit and determination and ‘rock’ spirit. Not only that Kary (and her excellent band, musicians and techy people) give any fan of varied modern pop music genres a great and worthwhile concert of eclectic variety. This DVD set features the full ‘Kary On’ concert (with fantastic sound quality and camera work) and also includes an audio only version on two CDs. Packaging is a slip-cased gatefold digi-pack housing two DVDs/CDs and includes a 36-page booklet of various shots from Kary’s live set. A brilliant package, as many HK live DVD/CD concert combos are and I definitely recommend this set. Kary rocks! :D
