Dir en grey does it once again! To make it short this single Kicks major Bootay! The music pulls together so well! Some people say that DEG has changed for the worse... I don't think so.. to me it seems their musical talents are evolving. Yes, their sound has changed but Dir en grey has definately pulled it off..and then some..Kasumi is A MUST HAVE!

Awesome Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Dir en Grey's Kasumi is just awesome. It just sounds great. It's so dramatic and full of energy, I just love it! The other two songs are also great, but Kasumi is now my favorite Dir en Grey song.

Simply Beautiful Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is probably the only single where you like all the songs. Dir en grey never lets me down, though their style has changed a bit, their music will forever hold that charm that has kept me to them. After listening to this it makes me really want to write to them, tell them that they're brilliant geniouses. Kasumi, Fukai, and Umbrella come together to make a beautiful single. Anyways I hope you love this as much as I do, they have truly taken their music to the next level.

Kasumi=Gold Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Dir en grey is truly a musical phenomenon. Their sound covers a broad range, and every experiment in a different type of style works out wonderfully. Their newest single enforces that point.

The first track boasts awesome guitar playing by Kaoru and Die that stand out strongly yet still follow the mellow lamentful tone of the music. Shinya's drumming is as subtle yet complex as always, and Toshiya's bass playing is mellifluous like it has been since their indies days. Indeed, Toshiya is one of the most amazing bassists in the global music scene today. Perhaps the greatest feature of the single ("Kasumi") is Kyo's contribution. As always, he has managed to craft a lyric that conveys a slightly morbid and extremely poetic story to the listener. And, as always, this can only be understood through interpretation, as Kasumi is one of those songs with quasi-cryptic lyrics. As for those who don't like Kyo's vocal style (which I can't see why taking into account that it's a self-taught unique style that is angsty and soothing all at the same time), Kyo proves that he indeed has a wonderful vocal range. Listen for the way he hits the note at the end of the word "namida" in the chorus. It's nothing short of perfection.

Fukai is a great track as well. The guitars in this song are wonderful. Though it is true that they are in a sense repetitive, the sounds produced are so great that you don't notice that it's being repeated. Toshiya's bass more subtle in Fukai since it is a fast paced song and the focus goes to Die and Kaoru's dueling guitars. Kyo's vocals are outstanding once more; there is a change in pitch and tone that accompanies the change in the song. In my opinion, the best feature of this song is Shinya's drumming. It's magnificent. Overall, Fukai is a a great song that takes their old indies sound and merges it with their newer hard rock sound seamlessly. Not surprising since this piece was composed by Shinya himself, who surprisingly doesn't compose songs as frequently as someone with his talent should (think of "Hotarubi" and "Toriko").

The last track, Umbrella, is a great finish to the single. One might even pass it off for the real song. Although it is a live version, it sounds remarkably close to the studio recording, save a few shouts here and there from Kyo to his audience.

All in all, Kasumi is a great single. A must have for everyone, even people who refuse to buy singles and simply wait for album releaes. Well worth the money and the excruciating delivery wait.

DEG Does It Again Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
There's something intangible about Dir En Grey that just makes them so damn good. This single is no exception to that at all. Simply put, Kasumi just works. Everything blends together so well. Kyo vocie is amazing, as always. Die and Kaoru's guitars accentuate the song perfectly. While Tochi and Shinya's bass and drums are easily recognizable, while at the same time not overpowering. You really have to give it to Dir En Grey for always being so consistantly awesome while at the same time nothing they put out sounds really simliar to anything else. They're always original and just doing their own thing.
