Perfection...
Perfection...
| Don't let the drab cover of this release fool you...this girl is simply AMAZING. I am so glad to have her CD, even if it only has 8 songs. My favorites are #1, #2, and #6 and my least favorite (although this CD is so good, it's still not "bad") is #3 which does have a rather odd beat to it. I think this singer is over-looked and that is a shame! She's brilliantly talented. She sounds exactly like a cross between the vocals of Kokia and music of Ai Takaoka. Very unique and very excellent. It is NO surprise she is on the acclaimed Giza label...she has certainly earned that right. PLEASE: people, take my advice and buy this CD. Even the price is right...it's relatively low for a Japanese import and especially when you hear it and know there are no filler songs on here. True, she could have extended this with 2 filler songs to make a full release, but she didn't. She put 8 outstanding songs together in a stunning release. I am in awe of how much I love this CD. But, I am a big Kokia and Ai Takaoka fan, so this type of music really appeals to me. It's almost the American equivilant of Lisa Loeb vocals with Vanessa Carlton's music style. VERY nice and not mainstream Japanese pop. This CD is a stand-out, and I can only hope she releases another CD quickly because she is a new favorite of mine. The sweet voice is well-honed and the music is marvelous. You cannot go wrong with this purchase! |
