Used for a series of commercials for a popular Japanese bridal magazine (which ironically stars the tumultuous married-but-separated pairing of Kirin Kiki and rocker Uchida Yuya), Kazoku ni Naro yo is essentially Fukuyama's four-minute ode to weddings and marriages. With lyrics like "We'll cross over anything/Let's become a family", Kazoku is an unabashedly gentle ballad with lyrics that may even convert cynics to take a walk into the altar.

Composed by Fukuyama himself, Kazoku ni Naro yo features an arrangement as pleasant and gentle as the lyrics. The acoustic wooden guitar and the piano are the main instruments, and even the drum line is surprisingly unobtrusive. On the other hand, the arrangement of the song's "Wedding version", which features a more prominent strings presence to give the song that extra layer of elegance for any wedding party, is considerably grander than it really needs to be.

Nevertheless, the true star of the Kazoku ni Naro yo is really Fukuyama Masaharu. While his good looks undoubtedly brought him many female fans, it's his signature low-range voice and introverted masculine persona that make him the rare rock star with a perfect balance of looks and talent. When you listen to Kazoku no Naro yo, you're not just buying Fukuyama's melody, vocal performance, or even his lyrics; instead, you're buying a fantasy of Fukuyama Masaharu as the perfect romantic. For those five minutes, you can believe that the notoriously private musician is really asking you to build a family with him. That moment may even be better than the most splendid, lavish marriage proposal in the world.
