The sad thing about this release is that one of the films is almost unwatchable due to the transfer quality. Invisible Waves has had much written about its dark and moody look; this being the work of the great Christopher Doyle. Sad then that this DVD copy is SO dark, that a good 25% of the movie is almost black.
The quality of the other two films is fine - which is good because they are both better films.
So I give 7 out of 10 for The Peter Pan Formula, an 8 out of 10 for Turtles can Fly, but a dismal 1 out 10 for Invisible Waves.

June 3, 2007 Dreadful melodramaThis is based on the director's cut - this is really awful. No wonder 30 minutes was cut from the cinema release. Poor script, one-dimentional acting (except from the little kid) made this a turgid melodrama pretending to be an art film. Quite the worst film to emerge from HK for a long time. I shall be selling/giving away my copy immediately.

The Host Standard Edition (Japan Version)
November 18, 2006 Great filmSaw this film the other night in the UK. It's great fun - but sadly this DVD release has only Japanese subtitles which is why I won't be buying it.

Running Wild
May 5, 2006 Not goodThis film is a mess and I'm afraid to say that KSW is totally miscast. He plays a maverick cop who is so out of control that he loses his temper at the slightest thing. There have been great Korean movies that have focussed on rogue cops before, notably 'Public Enemy' but here KSW was just one-dimensional. Poor direction didn't help and the action scenes lacked tension. Sorry - but this is a turkey!

Another Public Enemy Limited Edition
September 20, 2005 Very disappointingIf you are hoping this is a follow up to the excellent 'Public Enemy' of a couple of years back, then you are up for a huge disappointment. This film is wooden, lacking in tension and action. The finale of the film is one of the weakest I've seen and the performances from Kyung-gu Sol and Jun-ho Jeong are one-dimensional and unconvincing. If you want a great Korean action film, go buy 'A Bittersweet Life'. Now that film rocks.
