YesAsia Editorial Description
From Cinema City's creative trio Karl Maka, Dean Shek, and Raymond Wong comes this 1983 Taiwan film written and directed by veteran actor Ke Yi Zheng (Full Moon in New York). Twice Golden Horse Best Actress Award winner Sylvia Chang plays Fen, a successful fashion designer, whose six-year-old son Wei has gone missing one evening. The police find that Wei's father Ren, who felt overshadowed by his wife, also vanished four months earlier when he suffered a setback in his career. As the police race against time to save Wei from the kidnappers, Fen must re-evaluate her priorities and fight for the reunion of her family. Co-starring 80s cinema heartthrob Eddie Chan (Man on the Brink) and kung fu star Wang To (Drunken Tai Chi), Kidnapped is remarkable for housing an examination of the role of women in modern society inside a thriller story framework.
