I was watching the movie on the plane to Rome... and believe me, you will not wanted to see it for second time. Once is enough...
It is good. However, the bloody parts distracted me.

Some of the concept of the movie was very intriging to say the least. The cast all displayed high volume of artistic ability. Overall this movie moved along greatly but due to original critics reviews, it maded this movie overhyped for me. Good movie, not a classic....

 Can hardly be called a DVD Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
It's sad that a Singaporean has to be the one who slams this product...but here's the whole truth - besides having a great clear DVD picture (that's what the 1 star is for), there's really nothing else that defines a DVD. First, you can't toggle between any choices on the so-called menu, it's just not for viewer control. Language choice is hence by default chinese. so if your player can't choose the korean audio (by pressing audio setup and whatnot), then you'll be stuck with chinese audio, like me. Strangely though, I have been able to choose the korean audio before with other movies, it's just this DVD that refuses to work. Second, no extra features. I mean, if you really like the movie, get the real DVD published by the original country with all the deleted scenes and all.

however, if what i just mentioned above doesnt matter a hoot to you, then go ahead though. But for those Singaporeans who are for some WEIRD reason buying local products online, just go to an arts laser outlet at best denki (century square has one), it sells for around half the price offered here.

"Alone in Love" is a different screenplay as compared to the various Korean tv love series I have seen (25, so far since 2005). It is an ordinary love story but told so differently.Jumping from one scene to another without finishing the first and going back to it and completing it with a more dramatically related scene held me in comfortable suspense and more emotionally satisfying conclusion. The scene where Son ya Jin was singing her theme song with her former husband to him and his new wife during their wedding and flashing the scene where Woo Sung took their dead baby out of the morgue, kissed him and stayed with the baby instead of with his wife, is an example of what i mean by a different transposition of scenes to bring out a more intense drama. That scene showed the cause of their divorce and why a deep bond remained even after the divorce. This is just one of them, although this is the most poignant. Woo Sung is a first class actor who can be funny, poignant deep, stupid and soooo human.Son ya Jin is perfect for the role, understated but nevertheless deep and intense. The dialogue is realistic, and the philosophical undertones in the minds of the actors and actresses show the conflicts and inconsistensies of people who love each other and cannot quite convey it to one another while they grappled with traumas/sadness in their lives,and their conflicting definitions of love, marriage and happiness. I think the series need to be watched twice to really appreciate it. It grows on you. Once is not enough.The ending is so satisfying after so many dead heroes and heroines in other korean Love stories.

I have seen this beautifully made movie over 12 times after I received my DVD copy. Excellent script and acting are the 2 main highlights of the film. The down side of this DVD set is that the supplement disk is not English subtitled.

Extremely happy when bought the above item. Beautiful script, excellent acting, soundtrack, packaging and etc. needless to say but however, there are no subtitles for the commentaries by the actors for Theatical Release and there also no subtitles for Disc Supplement (the ones that's show a lot of Behind-the-scene and etc.)???Such a pity, I am sure many non-speaking Korean fans will like to know what are the crew talking about and it's extremely frustrating. I wonder will there be another Limited Edition of the King and the Clown coming out in total English subtitles for all Discs except soundtrack or total Mandarin subtitles.

Intense...... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I loved this movie so much that I watched it twice in one day. Gam Woo Sung (Along In Love) is so different and excellent in this movie! Lee Jun Ki (My Girl), so pretty in this...prettier than the actual women, impressive. These two made me laugh and cry. I will definitely pay more attention to future dramas and movies with these two in them.
I recommend this to anyone whether you are K-drama fan or not.

turned out to be an entertaining and bittersweet movie. the acting is good and story is different and daring. refreshing to see something new in korean films, especially a period film.

"The King and The Clown"? To me, the title sounds like one of Stephen Chow's movie. But it's not.

The first 5 minutes already caught my attention. I couldn't wait for the next scenes...well, see for yourself, the storyline is unpredictable.

This movie's superb, not boring at all and you'll understand why it won 2 awards and ranked number 1 in Korea's box office. They acted very well as street performers. The King gave a good emotional conflict to the audience (he's being tyrannical and childish at the same time).

One last thing, I agree with one of the reviewers, the director should have explained about the strong bond between Gong Gil and Jang-saeng.

Two thumbs up for the newcomer Lee Jun Gi!!

i just finished watching, its good! i so recommend everyone to watch it!
i love how not so explicit of sex and killings it is, like when it comes to something like a kiss or sex and killing, they dont show too much of it, just the right amount.

to me the king, seem to have some um mental issue or just a bit, he acts like a boy sometimes, king on the outside but he still have his inner child within.
i love gong gil's skin, its soo good lookin
i cried toward the end, it was very moving
