Although King Cat was one of Chang I's earliest films, the young actor was already showing the promise that would make him the star of countless Shaw Brothers' martial arts movies. Chang plays Chan Chao, a knight of justice, who thwarts the plans of Minister Peng to assassinate the revered Judge Pao Cheng over and over again. Lo Lieh gives Chang a good run for his money as the evil and sinister henchman of Minister Peng.

| In my humble opinion as of a somewhat Shaw Film Historian,,,, Any film that the studio release before 1969 that were considered to be martial art gengre....usually are not worth collecting. This film is no different. The plot is so so, The Main Star Chang Yi is below par,,,which explain why they finally discovered Ti Lung and David Chiang soon there after. They are both worthy of being Shaw leading men. Buy this DVD if only you are a hard core classic Shaw fan. |
