當代歌后蘇蓉蓉（姚蘇蓉飾）以善唱流行歌曲，名震遐邇，其成名歌曲「金色海浪」、「拜月女」、「飄飄去了」、「風流貴妃」等，更為青少年陶醉不已，美專女高材生楊阿蜜（秦蜜飾），即最崇拜蓉蓉之歌迷。
阿蜜家中樓上住有兩位房客－小金和小王，小金是其歌廳樂隊小喇叭手（青山飾），小王則為同歌廳之鼓手（丁強飾）。小金與小王每在夜間上班之前，必練習打鼓及吹奏喇叭，異然吵鬧，阿蜜之母到得其所哉，常靠他們的樂節奏整理家務，然阿蜜畫，候他們上班後，始回返家中，所以彼此均無見面機會。
小金與小王工作的歌廳，由於生意不佳，欠發薪金，因此工人口袋常鬧空城計，一日三餐不繼，然二人色星高照，欲結交異性朋友。一日，小金與小王閒坐一家小店，突見貌美的阿蜜，二人乃大吹其牛，小王特為店主介紹，謂小金是剛從美國回來尋求對象之美太空中心的科學家，店主受愚允代找對象，並招待他二人飽餐了一頓。
之後，二人常在小店遇見阿蜜，無奈阿蜜對太空科學不感興趣，因她喜愛流行歌曲...

King Of Singer (DVD) (Taiwan Version)
| The quality of the picture is pretty poor in some part. The story plot is very simple, but the big bonus is the appearance of Yao Su Jung and Qing Shan. Worth watching if you are a fan of Yao Su Jung. |
