Can love bloom between an 80-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl? Based on Yumiko Oshima's shoujo comic, the whimsical Across a Gold Prairie blurs the line between reality and fantasy to paint a wistfully imaginative romance that transcends time and age. Directed by Inudo Isshin (Shinibana), Across a Gold Prairie stars newcomer actress Ikewaki Chizuru (Summer Snow) and the dashing Iseya Yusuke (Casshern and Yuki ni Negau Koto), who stretches his range to subtly capture the young-at-heart protagonist.
One day, 80-year-old Nippori (Iseya Yusuke), who has been bedridden for 60 years, wakes up believing himself to be 20 years old and his elderly age to be just a dream. He then falls in love with his clumsy domestic helper, 18-year-old Kodai (Ikewaki Chizuru), who greatly resembles a girl from his youth. Touched by Nippori's passion and sincerity, Kodai finds herself being gradually pulled into his romantic dream world.
