YesAsia Editorial Description

After releasing four singles in half a year, L'Arc-en-Ciel tops off 2007 with their highly anticipated new album Kiss. Coming right on the tale of their Hurry Xmas single, Kiss is their first album in two and a half years. It comes with 12 tracks, and will include both their recent singles like Seventh Heaven, My Heart Draws a Dream, and Daybreak's Bell, as well as brand new songs. In conjunction with their new album, the band will also be going on tour, carrying over to the new year with their 2007-2008 Theater of Kiss Tour. Rocking Japan for some 16 years, L'Arc-en-Ciel celebrated their 15th anniversary last year and, at the pace they're going, they just may have another 15 in store.

Assembly of Awesome Songs in 1 CD!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Personally, the songs in the Kiss album were among my favorites, as I've been a huge fan of L'Arc for quite a while now. Seventh Heaven, Pretty Girl, Spiral, and Link all have a upbeat rock tune. As for My Heart Draws a Dream, Sunadokei, Alone en la Vida, Umibe, The Black Rose, and Yuki no Ashiato, they have a more emotional aspect to the music. Hurry Xmas is (obviously) a holiday spirit song, great for a Christmas party feeling. Also, the photography is just brilliant. Close-ups of the individual members and a group photo, along with the lyrics. (: The musical talents of each member compliment each other well and form an inspirational band, one that I will listen to for years to come. L'Arc~en~Ciel, ganbatte!!

Great Album Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is probably one of my near favorites of Laruku's! These guys are REAL Rock Artists! The album's full of many great tracks from beginning to end, and even though the last track is a Christmas song, I find I still wanna listen to it no matter what time of the year it happens to be. I've had this one for quite a long while now already, and I've never had a day where I've regretted buying it. My favorite tracks are SEVENTH HEAVEN, My Heart Draws A Dream and even the more poppy-rockish song, Link. However, all of them are totally awesome. It's an album that every person who likes Rock or JRock ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE in their collection. Also, try out many of their other albums as well. Highly Recommended!

Latest Addiction: Alone En La Vida! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have the Kiss album for a while, and for some reason I almost let Alone En La Vida slipped out of my hand as one of my all time favorites. I reviewed most of their albums lately and listened to this track. I couldn't resist looking up the translation from the internet and here's the beginning of the track:

'A faded fantasy carved footprint growing misty
A faraway journey and then a gust of wind...'

I gathered that Ken composed or wrote the lyrics which has deep emotions. The music is totally reflective of the lyrics which is sad and nostalgic. Hyde's passionate vocals, the excellent guitars and drums accompaniments along with its catchy melody makes this my latest addiction and will remain as one of my all time favorites. Can't tell you how happy I'm to be L'Arc~en~Ciel's fan because they are absolutely among the best in the world! Get this album!

P.S. Hyde has one of the most beautiful vocals in the world! :)

Excellent CD Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is my first full album by L'Arc~en~Ciel after the single, My Heart Draws a Dream which is one of my favorite tracks. My other favorites are Alone En La Vida, Daybreak's Bell and 海辺 (Sea Shore?). Try this CD if you like rock music. L'Arc~en~Ciel is probably at their best with their rock compositions here and their playing of the instruments is mature and great. Omg! I'm upgrading The Black Rose to a 5 stars from a zero this minute because I think the drum beats by Yukihiro is fantastic. HahaHa! I think I might just get Ken's album next and look into other L'Arc~en~Ciel members' CD. It's funny how Hyde & L'Arc~en~Ciel have turned me into one of their big fans! :)

Turn it up! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Kiss" is a solid J-rock album from one of the masters of the form. The songs are tightly constructed and tightly played, all but eschewing flashy guitar solos in favor of lightning fast, molten hot, pile-driving rock and roll. For my tastes, Hyde's vocals are a tad overly operatic on the fast numbers, but that's a mere quibble. Oddly, the album's last three tracks are sweet, almost syrupy pop songs; they are nice songs, but strangely out of character with what has come before them on the album. Something for everyone, I guess. This album definitely is recommended for all J-rock fans.
