Fantastic song
Koda Kumi does it again with this catchy fun love song which is also the theme song for the drama Busu no Hitomi Koishiteru in which Koda Kumi has a teeny tiny part near the end. She is so cute! And the song is fantastic. And the remix to it is really fantastic too.

the cd only contains just one song koi no tsubomi, 1. regular version, 2. milk tea bossa nova version, 3. instrumental (music only, no singing). the music sounds hot n' poppy cute. the song koi no tsubomi is tops. plus it is the theme song to the dorama busu no hitomi ni koi shiteru and koda kumi has a small cameo part near the end of this dorama. cool, eh!

I loved this song the first time I heard it!!! I was expecting something different when I read on the internet about people's opinions. They were saying that it was "light and summery" like Come With Me. Well after hearing the song, I'd have to say that while it's "light and summery" it reminds me more of Birthday Eve more than Come With Me. When I first looked at the single in my hands I was so excited! I looked at the back and thought "WOW THERE'S A BACK COVER? AYU'S SINGLES ARE NEVER LIKE THIS!!!" (I'm a fairly new Kumi fan, this is her first single that I bought. I got into listening to her by purchasing her two best albums with the DVDs) The weird thing is, it opens upside down and backwards so that the front cover is behind where the CD sits and the booklet/back cover is where the front cover usually sits. (is everyone else's copy like this?) I've probably listened to this single about 20 times in the past 2 days and I'm still not bored of it! I agree that having a single with one song is a little disappointing, but I also think Kumi deserves a little break after her 12 singles. Also, she's soon releasing a photobook AND a MEGA single with 4 new songs soon! (did you know that? *_*) I love how there's emoticons in the lyrics just like Birthday Eve too. I find myself using such emoticons now >_< I just love Kumi!!!!!! <3 |

Another cute song and PV made by Koda Kumi, Koi no tsubomi (Love Bud). Avoiding her Urban styles she makes another Poppish catchy tune, if your a fan of Birthday Eve and Cutie Honey, you MUST buy this single. The single comes with a very pleasent cover and the PV (+DVD ONLY), is stunning, and may even related to you readers, although the fairy costume was a bit ...odd LOL.. If you dislike Koda Kumi based on her Image and music etc, try Koi No Tsubomi, it has got to change your point of veiw on this wonderful Multi-Talented singer or maybe i should say....future queen of J-pop. ^_^

I just read the reviews on here, and all I can say is Im disgusted. One person gives this no stars because he/she thinks Koda Kumi didnt put enough work in it. Another only gives it 2 stars because it supposedly sounds like Birthday Eve. Why dont you rate this single on the SONG, not on whether you think you've heard it already! This song sounds nothing like anything Ive heard from her, but Im not a die hard fan. The instrumentals are beautiful (I love the violinw) and whenever I listen to it (which is everyday) I feel like I want to dance to it! There's just something about it that makes me happy. I know everyone thinks Koda Kumi is going to fast, but does it really matter if the songs she releases are actually GOOD? I actually dont usually like her songs -- they're too hip hop or w/e for me. This one is definatly great, and if she released more songs like this, Cutie Honey, No Regret, M.a.z.e, and Rain, she just got herself a new fan ^^

Hmm...more cutesy songs???
Hmm...more cutesy songs???
I was hoping for some more R&B or great danceable songs...but this one reminded me of Birthday Eve which I didn't care for that much. I hate these happy hyper cutesy songs. The melody for Koi no Tsubomi is better than bday eve, but it's just way too happy. For some reason, these kind of songs sound the same. This release doesn't make me excited at all, and I didn't like the message the PV and the song were sending--that if a woman fixes herself up with makeup and clothes, she'll get a date??
