April 20, 2009 Super Show? Really? In the first few minutes of this concert, I was questioning my sanity for having bought it. After making it through the worst concert opening video I've ever seen, Super Junior appears, with fake mics all around, dancing and lip-syncing their way through the first four or five songs.
When I heard the first bit of truly live vocal, I was amazingly relieved. The end of the first disc and the beginning of the second disc are where most of the good stuff is. Ballads mostly, but there are sprinkles of the upbeat and fun. Two of my favorites being their cover of "Y.M.C.A" with their own unique follow-along dance routine, and "Wonderboy".
The DVD quality isn't astounding, and there's an odd pause when I skip between chapters. It's more comparable to backup copies I've created of my other DVDs then something official. There are also long video introductions to most songs, that cannot be skipped, and several places where I can tell parts of the concert were edited out (including things shown in the photobook... >>;;).
The region free aspect was nice though. I was able to slip it into a DVD player as soon as I got it, rather then traveling back to the PC to start the long process of making a watchable version.
The photobook is around 40 pages, and mainly features standard two-page layouts of each member.
This cannot fit on a standard DVD shelf.
Overall, for the price, it isn't bad. Get it while it's on sale though. :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

April 4, 2009 I stand corrected. Not really a fan of Big Bang myself, I purchased this for my younger sister as a birthday gift. I must say though, I was very impressed. The intro of the main concert is a bit weird and it takes a while to draw you in, but by the end you'll see just how V.I.P. Big Bang truly is.
Even "Lalala", which I was not at all a fan of from the previous version I had heard, had a remixed version in this concert that was not only tolerable, I'd call it a highlight. Other highlights included Daesung's smile-inducing solo, a dynamic performance of "Dirty Cash" with flying fake money, G-Dragon's onstage serenade for a lucky fan, and a beautifully remixed version of "Lie".
Impressive live vocals, high-energy dancing, good humor, and a love for their fans that I've never seen from any other Asian idol group has completely changed my opinion of Big Bang.
The English subs were especially nice to have on the second disc, which included a highly entertaining parody of Boys Over Flowers, backstage footage, and multi-angle performances.
Taeyang's concert and the photobook were nice bonuses, but nothing worth raving over, and the 3D dolls come in paper pieces that you have to assemble yourself. We tried with Daesung and failed. Now he's just a collection of paper scraps stuck in the case. ^^;;
My biggest complaint is that the case is oddly sized and won't fit in with a normal DVD collection. As far as the content, I could have paid full price for just the main concert and been happy. It's a good value, and I definitely recommend it to all existing Big Bang fans. Maybe you other skeptics should give it a try too. ^.^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Yukan Club (DVD) (Boxset) (Japan Version)
Yukan Club (DVD) (Boxset) (Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(2)Our Price: US$203.75Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysAugust 11, 2008 Awesome SeriesIt didn't take long for Yukan Club to become one of my favorite Japanese TV series. The cast is amazing, and well able to keep you involved in the story even while you're laughing out loud at their wacky antics. Oh yes, wacky antics. This series is full of them. XD
The story revolves around the six members of prestigious Saint President Gakuin's "Yukan Club". Emotional bad boy Miroku (Akanishi Jin), gorgeous playboy Bido (Junnosuke Taguchi), intellectual Seishiro (Yokoyama You), conservative Noriko (Kashii Yu), fashionable love-questing Karen (Suzuki Emi), and the always hungry Yuri (Minami). The group uses solving mysteries as a way to spend their vast fortunes and pass the time.
The supporting characters includes the eccentric parents of these spoon-fed teens, scheming school officials, gangsters, foreign royalty, and a bomb-happy crossdresser to name a few. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll probably laugh until you cry a few times too. Yukan Club is a hilarious and heartwarming series that you'll watch over and over again. I definitely recommend it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Koe (Japan Version)
August 10, 2008 Amazing!Tsukiko Amano is likely the single most amazing female vocalist I've ever heard, and "Koe" is perfectly suited to her voice. I have to disagree whole-heartedly with the review by Tsuki-kun. Not a single note in this song was off-key, as one would expect from any studio recording.
Koe was my favorite of the two tracks, as Tsukiko Amano's voice is so perfectly suited to dark ballads. The lyrics beautifully convey the despair of a lover left behind, and even for those who can't understand them, the feeling is conveyed well in the music itself. A background of modern dark rock blended with epic string instruments, and Tsukiko's amazing transitions into falsetto. It's been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it quite a while ago, and I never get tired of listening to it.
Moe on the other hand is not my favorite of Tsukiko's songs, but definately worth a listen. It's more upbeat, as other reviews have mentioned, so it gives a good example of the varied sort of songs she releases.
If only for Koe, I'd call this single a must own, and I definately encourage you to check out some of her other releases.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

July 14, 2008 Highly RecommendedHeat Island may not have been the Guy Ritchie type movie experience I expected, but the story was good and easy to follow even with my limited knowledge of the Japanese language. It was odd for me at first to see Shirota Yu, and most definitely AAA's goofy leader Urata Naoya in these darker roles. However, the entire cast was amazing and able to draw me right in.
So let's see, dark themes, questionable characters, and some good old violence. If you like gangster movies, Heat Island may not be the best, but you won't be disappointed, and the special features definitely add some play time to the DVD. I highly recommend it. ^^Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

There's 18 songs total, as well as a very long "act corner" in which we get to see the band dressed in some rather odd costumes. (A native american, a pirate, a "Cleopatra"..)
This special edition version comes with a nifty booklet filled with prettiness. Not to mention a bonus disc with 8 different angles for 3 of the songs. (That means, you get to watch your favorite member throughout!) Without a doubt, it's worth the extra money.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
