剛從PC巡邏警調升為CID的李兵，為了充實自己，除參加警隊中的各項訓練外，晚間還私下到武術館跟隨太極師傅吳輝學習太極，因而認識了師兄小齊。小齊為人友善熱情，更不時指點李兵，與之切磋練習，兩人漸成為好友，無所不談，唯大家都不知道對方的職業。一日，警方接到線報，說一班潛逃已久的劫匪，於日內又會再度行劫，其中一名更是多次逃獄的殺人重犯歡姐，佈署追拿的工作落到李兵隸屬的地區。
歡姐與其手下於犯案時與李兵的人馬發生槍戰，其中一名身手極好的匪徒逃出了警方的天羅地網，李兵在追捕時與之交手，發覺對方都是練武之人，招式更似曾相識……
