Today (ALBUM+DVD)(First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(3)Our Price: US$40.25Usually ships within 7 daysOctober 2, 2007 Simply LovelyI recently received this album and I have to say how much I enjoy it. Angela has a rich, beautiful voice that is pleasant to listen to. Her piano playing is also exceptional. Depending on the song, Angela goes from upbeat and fun (like 5. Tashika ni) to mellow and relaxing (1. Sakura-iro). I enjoy many of her songs included on this compilation; the only reason I gave 'Today' a 9/10 is that there are a few songs I inevitably always like to skip over. However, overall the CD is chock full of good material that is more than listenable. There's even an English-language song included (13. Surrender) that showcases Angela's multilingual heritage and talents.
The DVD that comes with this edition has a total of 8 videos--including official music videos, live performances, and makings of the music videos and the album itself. I was surprised and pleased at how much was included. I feel I should say to potential buyers: be aware that the DVD is all Japanese language with no subtitles; yet even though I am not fluent in Japanese, I still was able to enjoy it.
I highly recommend 'Today' to those who want to listen to something that is excellent, mature music but not quite mainstream Jpop.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

August 14, 2007 Spring is in the Air...While perhaps not the best of Yoon Suk Ho's seasonal Kdramas, Spring Waltz is nevertheless a sweet and visually stunning addition to any drama fan's collection. The acting in Spring Waltz is nothing notable by any means, but the premise of the story is interesting and the actors are all earnest enough to give some credence to their roles. The tender love story that unfolds from the first episode to the last is, in the end, worthwhile.
Filmed in both Austria and South Korea, the locations chosen to shoot this series are unbelievably gorgeous. From the winter scenery of Vienna to the remote quaintness of springtime on a tiny Korean island, every scene in Spring Waltz is remarkable in its beauty. All the characters wear costumes in bright colors that compliment and accentuate the blossoms and spring greenery that are present throughout the film. The result is a viewing experience that made me feel like it really was spring; I half expected to see blossoms and flowers outside my window when I first watched this series in the middle of winter.
Finally, the music of Spring Waltz is glorious. If you enjoy classical music, particularly of the piano variety, you will love this show. I immediately bought both soundtracks to this series after watching it the first time. The piano is soothing and is an important element in moving the storyline forward.
Once again YA Entertainment did a fine job with the English subtitles, so whether a Korean speaker or not, everyone can enjoy this show.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

April 6, 2007 Hilarious but intelligent filmI just watched this movie and I loved it. I thought the premise of the story interesting--Hannah is a woman with a gorgeous voice, but an ugly, 200-pound exterior. After undergoing head-to-toe plastic surgery and reinventing herself as the sexy, beautiful and slim singer 'Jenny,' Hannah thinks she has everything made. But when people find out the secret to her beauty, will they still accept Hannah?
Kim Ah Jung does a fantastic job playing Hannah--in both the obese and thin forms. Her comedic timing is dead on, and her singing voice won me over instantly (the movie includes a great soundtrack!) Her character is so loveably awkward, and we cannot help but want those in her world to love her as much as we do.
Underneath the film's comedy--which is plentiful and genuinely funny--the movie brings up some interesting and thought-provoking points about society's obession with physical appearance and the trend of 'fixing' ourselves with plastic surgery. People reject Hannah despite her inner loveliness because of her obesity, and are set to reject her again because she is no longer 'natural.' I love the ending...it leaves the topic of plastic surgery and the definition of beauty up in the air for the viewers to decide on for themselves. I'd definitely recommend watching it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Freeze (CGV TV Series) (US Version)
Freeze (CGV TV Series) (US Version) DVD Region 1
(4)Our Price: US$19.99List: US$59.99Save: US$40.00 (67%)March 15, 2007 Love, passion, and bloodI absolutely love this series. Freeze is shorter than most Kdramas (only 5 one-hour episodes), but I like that it doesn't require the huge time committment that most similar shows entail. You can watch it all in a day without losing any sleep...:)
The story is a bit dark, but fascinating. An older vampire who enjoys beauty, youthful looks, and a life of luxury finds his existence nonetheless cursed and empty. It is only when he meets the beautiful young mortal woman, Ji-Woo, that his emotional wall begins to fall and he realizes he needs love and purpose in his life in order to be happy. But how can he have a relationship with Ji-Woo being what he is?
Be warned that this series does include the vampire characters drinking blood and some violence, so I wouldn't recommend this series to younger individuals. BUT this Kdrama does have lush cinematography, dazzling scenery, gorgeous characters, and an achingly beautiful storyline; so how can you go wrong? YA Entertainment did a great job with the subs for this series, and the packaging is very well done. Even if you think you don't like vampire stories, don't let that stop you from seeing this fantastic show--its depth and beauty are breathtaking. I know you won't regret it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

March 8, 2007 Just what I wanted...This 'D' version of TVXQ's third album was all I could ever want and then some. This repackaged version comes with the music CD of TVXQ Vol. 3("O" Jung.Ban.Hup), as well as a DVD that contains all of the group's Korean-language music videos as well as concert footage for some of their more popular songs. There are also short interviews with the members of TVXQ between the music video clips. Be warned that there are no subtitles on the DVD, which was the only thing that could have made this set perfect.
Also with this 'D' version comes a set of 30 'magic' cards (similar to playing cards, but larger) with pictures of the boys dressed up in numerous silly outfits, which was quite an unexpected yet fun surprise. I consider this third album by TVXQ their best, and this repackaged version was fantastic, especially for the price! I'd definitely recommend it to fans who want to see as well as hear TVQX perform. However, check out the other versions of this CD to see which of the four "O" Jung.Ban.Hup albums is most interesting to you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
