本田美奈子が骨髄性急性白血病で他界したのは2005年11月6日の事・・・。その入院中に、恩師の作詞家・訳詞家"岩谷時子"が路上で大腿骨を骨折し同じ病院に運び込まれた。無菌室から出る事が出来なかった本田美奈子は、岩谷時子を励ます為、病室でア・カペラで歌を歌い、ボイス・レコーダーに録音して岩谷時子の病室へ届けた・・・。このエピソードは今年NHKのドキュメンタリー番組「本田美奈子～最期のボイスレター」で放送され、多くの視聴者に共感をもって迎えられ、深い感動の記憶を残すことになった。病床でのアカペラをボイス・レコーダに録音した音源で、音質的に満足できるものではなく、途中で終わる曲もありますが、シンガーとしての命を込めた文字通りの"ラスト・コンサート"。
