August 14, 2008 Gorgeous AlbumHonestly. It's a gorgeous album. All of the tracks are so well written and they're the kind of songs you can listen to over and over and over again.
I was worried when I first got it, because usually, as artists go on in their careers, their music declines in quality, and this assumption made me dislike the album at first - but, after actually listening to the songs instead of skimming through them, I found that there is not a song on the album that I don't like. Seriously. I love them all. Sometimes I set my media player to shuffle and set this album as my playlist.
Most of the songs have catchy melodies, or riffs that travel around in your head all day.
I highly recommend this album. Like Sakura-chan said, not Ayu's best work, but still a wonderful album. (My personal favourite is 'Secret').
Ayumi Hamasaki seems to improve in quality as her career goes on, and being able to do all of this with tinnitus is truly admirable, because if you've ever had an ear infection and tried to sing, the physical feeling is quite unbearable.
I hear that 'untitled ~for her~' is about a friend of Ayu's who died (The album is dedicated to this same friend, if you look at the booklet). It is a beautiful song, and anyone who has a heart and reads the translation while listening to the song will most likely give way to tears.
To summarize, an excellent piece once again, and I can't wait until Ayu's 10th album.
Favourite track(s): talkin' 2 myself [the intro is genius]. The Judgement Day; Marionette.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

August 14, 2008 Unimpressed... But content
I think I'm seeing a pattern - after buying two Ayu-mi-x albums (This one and Ayu-mi-x 4 nonstop version), I've found that my only real problem is that there is either not enough energy in the remixes, or the texture is just too thin.
There is a lot of repetition, which can be fine in a remix, but when it repeats one line about 12 times, and this applies to almost all tracks, it gets boring.
I'm not here to slate Ayu... I love her music a lot, and usually the remixes of her songs - but, apparently not the ayu-mi-x albums. I much prefer the Cyber-Trance albums, and wish I had bought the fairyland single instead.
On an up-note, almost the whole album consisted of remixes of some of my most favourite Ayumi Hamasaki songs.
However, everyone's tastes are different - I suppose to summarize, if you're looking for an album will make you dance in your chair when you listen to it, don't go for this.
This is more like an experimental album. You will find much better remixes on the singles themselves and on Ayu's Cyber-Trance albums.

February 15, 2008 Very happy with this CDAs the title states, I was very happy when I listened to this CD. Sadly, as artists continue with music for a long time, they tend to go downhill, and that fact made me wary of Ayumi Hamasaki bringing out more CDs. However, I was very much proven wrong when I listened to it. There is so much energy in the songs, they actually make you want to blast up the volume and head bang in your seat!
Such well written songs, mixed with Ayu's phenomenal voice, it makes for an exceptional CD.
The chorus is catchy, and you sing along whether you know the lyrics or speak Japanese or not. A load of nonsense will do - you can feel the passion.
The piano intros leading into heavy distorted guitars is a good change, and it doesn't sound wrong or negative. It sounds natural - the contrast is spectacular, especially in decision. Switching from piano - guitar - piano - guitar, it keeps you on the edge, waiting to dance again.
Ayumi Hamasaki never fails to satisfy, and I 100% recommend this to any Ayu fan.
Also, the Orchestra version of fated was a nice touch. A good song originally, and hearing it so softly played makes it all the more magicalDid you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Talking' Piano (Normal Edition) (Japan Version)
February 15, 2008 Miyamoto~sama; an angelI've always said that Miyamoto Shunichi has an angel's voice, and I stick by that. He has a soft, yet limitless voice that you can really sink into.
Although a couple of the songs seem a little un structured in melody, it shows Shunichi's limitless talents and again, angelic voice. I moreso recommend the DNAngel soundtrack for some of Shunichi's best work and songs that highlight his talent more, but I was happy to see a piano reprise, and I fell in love with the song "Misty Rain"
A nice, easy-listening CD with beautiful piano accompaniment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

(9)Our Price: US$34.49Usually ships within 7 daysFebruary 15, 2008 There's been better ayu-mi-xesI bought this album, and I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. There are a lot of annoying sections - just little vocal extracts that deter me from listening to many of the songs. I also have an ayu-trance album, and that one surpasses this one greatly. The second disc is a lot better, even though it only hav 6 or 7 tracks.
I'm a die-hard Ayu fan and everything, but there are only a few songs on this album I enjoy listening to. It's not very energetic. Not something you can dance to.
Favourite tracks:
Disc 1: Far away; Daybreak; A Song For XX; vogue
Disc 2: Dearest (both); still alone; Naturally
Not really worth the money - I regret buying it. I wish I'd gone for the Orchesra version instead.
If you want a more dance ayu CD, go for Cyber Trance presents Ayu TRANCE 2. It's a lot better. Something that makes you tap your foot even if your just sitting at a desk and listening.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
