YesAsia Editorial Description

If anyone deserves to have their own adjective, it's probably Lee Hyo Ri. Lee, who emerged as a Korean pop icon since turning solo in 2003, introduces "hyorish" to our urban dictionary through the release of her new album It's Hyorish. Bringing the cute-sexy concept back to the stage, Lee teams up with some of the best talents in the business, namely producers Park Geun Tae and Kim Do Hyun, along with music video director Cha Eun Tek, to present what is expected to be one of the best-selling albums of 2008. A staggering 60,000 preorder copies were sold with ten days left before the official release, proving once again the massive appeal she brings to Korean pop culture.

Composed by rising songwriter E-Tribe, the hip-hop dance number U-Go-Girl (Track 3) is one of the double principal tracks featured on the album. Highlighted by Lee's unique resonating voice, the song is dedicated to her female fans and features lyrics that loosely translate to "don't be shy, show yourself boldly". Injecting Euro dance rhythm into electronica sound, Hey Mr. Big (Track 10) is a trendy dance number featuring fellow singer Wheesung's lyrics, which include the words of advice, "be a real man, show heart and courage." Some big names also show their support for Lee by contributing their vocal and creative talents, namely, Kim Gun Mo and Wheesung in Bbal gahn ja dong cha ("A Red Car" - Track 9) and Sexy Boy (Track 8), respectively.

이효리, 3집 "It's Hyorish"로 컴백!
더블 타이틀 "U-Go-Girl" "Hey Mr. Big"

its wonderful Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
okay so first off i'll start in on the packaging. the album is going with the more book type cd case (wich i prefer since they usually have bigg and more pics) but the cd itself is held in place by a fold that sadly doesnt hold it in place most of the time. but dont let that stop you from buying this album.
the best songs on this album are track 1'the unrivled lee hyori" lesson, u go girl, sexy boy with wheesung, and hey mr.big. her songs a way more catchier in this album than the last, and as always we get to hear her fantastic voice wich is clear and strong (but more deeper than most) there are alot of danceable songs wich i tend to perfer over ballads.

Totally feeling this Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I can't BELIEVE I forgot to review this! O_O

Anyways, this album is EXTREMELY creative and an excellent comeback for Lee Hyori after the Dark Angel album. There's a touch of old school in the entire album that makes you just wanna strut while walking down the street. The hip-hop is really thumping in this album that makes you wanna get up and dance while at the same time delivering lyrics that relay a message (like "Mr. Big" gives an amazing message to men).

Another great point about this album is that the overall theme is constant throughout the ENTIRE album. Most artists make albums with a jumble of genres to the point where it'd hard to categorize it. However, living up to its name, this album is HYORISH... Her sound really stays constant in the album. It's DIFFERENT yet mainstream at the same time and I love how this album has its own feel and sound.

I HIGHLY recommend this album. ^^

For some reason, the songs really brings me back to my days living in NY as a kid, just sitting on the front stoop listening to music. It's like this cd turns my memories into a musical. ^^() <--- Don't know if that helps anyone...

It's sooo Hyorish Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I never really heard many songs from HyoRi before except for Toc Toc Toc...I really like this album though and I'm glad I bought it. Her voice is really attractive whether it's fast or rapping or slow and calm. Her songs are lots of fun to listen to. They are lively and catchy. Most of the songs on this album are upbeat and fast - my favorite being Hey Mr. Big, Photo Album, and U Go Girl - but even her slow songs like Will it Get Better? are nice to listen to if you like slower songs. Big Tone is featured in that song so he keeps it from being too slow and too much like a sleepy ballad.

Overall, I definitely think this album made me a new fan of HyoRi.

One of the best albums of 2008 Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
For anybody who enjoys good music i recommend this album because I myself was not a Hyori fan until I listened to this album. This album proves that Hyori is NOT overrated at all. The songs are all really catchy - i especially enjoyed Lesson, Don't Cry and P.P.P even thought the other songs were just as amazing. Hyori's voice has such originality to it, and that makes the album perfect. I even loved the title of this album because it's just plain funny...seriously one of the best albums of the year.

Fun & Sexy-Cute Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
First of all, I am not a Hyori Lee fan. XD I love Korean music...I think Hyori is beautiful & has a wonderful voice, but I don't claim "fan" of her. However, I LOVED the "U-Go-Girl" song & the video was fun. I also love "Hey Mr. Big" although a scene of its music video has uncanny resemblance to Britney Spears's "Oops! I Did It Again" MV. (Watch both of them one-after-the-other and you'll see what I mean) Anyway! Regardless, this album is a definite improvement for her. Although I do not find it very original, it is fun & something fresh from Hyori Lee. She can really sing so beautifully and her fun flavor makes her appealing & got her to where she is now. She definitely carries "sexy-cute" better than Japan's Koda Kumi and really has the looks, attitude, voice, & confidence to back it. She carries herself with such style & charisma. (^_____^)

I rated it 8 out of 10, because although it is catchy & enjoyable, it lacks depth and originality. You can very well see in Korea's artists (Hyori Lee, Rain, Son Dambi, Wondergirls, BoA, etc), that they are heavily influenced by the American music industry and will sometimes mimic that style of mainstream R&B/Dance music artists like Beyonce', Britney Spears, Rihanna, etc. I sometimes wish they would invent something completely new & unlike anything, but I don't hold high hopes for it...

Back to the album though, I think it's a MUST HAVE for Hyori Lee fans and something interesting for noobs who may want to try her music out. It's the best first impression she could possibly make. Very nice & really a wonderful album to own - especially since it's only 13.99$!! Yeah, pick it up, OK? Hehehe!

Have a nice day & thanks for reading!
