The sequel to the Shaw Brothers hit Clans of Intrigue, Legend of the Bat brings back director Chor Yuen and star Di Lung, who once again plays righteous swordsman Chu Liu Hsiang! This time out, Chu Liu Hsiang must journey to the mysterious Bat Island to investigate a merchant who has put a price on Liu Hsiang's head! Clueless sequel

"Clans of Intrigue" is an entertainingly gaudy overstuffed comic book of a movie. Its sequel, "Legend of the Bat", is just as gaudy, but is saddled with a nonsensical story, bad special effects, and thoroughly disposable characters. I have now watched it twice and, believe me, it doesn't get any better with repeated viewing. Skip this one and stick with "Clans of Intrigue"! |
