Great action!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
This is one of the Don's great action movies and is done like an art house film. The story is simple but told innovatively but the action really shines with realistically fast action at least from d perception of a people involved in a ferocious fight rather than watching from a safe distance.
Those who complained about the speed are probably old skool n not martial arts practitioners n therefore need all the action spelt out to them.
Anyone who's ever been in a real street fight situation where your chops depended on it will understand how fast everything can happen.
I even have friends who can unleash 3 different types of high kicks per second with fist work that move even faster than their rubberlike legs. Like me they all understand n appreciate the action in dis great movie which we rate second best to the now classic Yuen Wo Ping IRON MONKEY also starring Don Yen.

Would luv to have seen it in the cinema. As it is we have to make do wif boot legs n dis dvd version where sadly d picture quality sucks!
Hence why I've only awarded it a 6 instead of 10.
Hope for a better quality dvd release in d near future!!!!

This has split opinions and i personally think that it is a decent effort from Donnie Yen even though it is a bit on the low budget side.

Story wise it is only minorly interesting with some boring scenes attached. This is better than his other efforts e.g. Ballistic kiss and shanghai affairs

The real part in which the film shines is the fight scenes they are intense and at great speed (intentional under cranking), with a huge array of combination kicks from Donnie. And this is what sets it apart from other films is Donnies kicking ability in which no other martial arts actor can recreate. The fights are also more real unlike otheres in which they seem more chereographed.

The DVD quality is poor with crap sound and picture. No extras at all.

Okay for a directorial debut Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
The story/plot was confusing at times & the editing could use some work. If you like action that is fast camera work, quick changes/circling angles then this is for you. If you get motion sick easily, you may want to steer clear of this one. Definately a "must have" if you are adding to your Donnie Yen collection. A very nice showcase of fast & hard, nothing flowery boxing as only Donnie can present.

I've got to say I'm amazed by the other reviews. I don't understand how anyone could think this was anything near good, let alone excellent. Yes, it was made extremely cheaply. And it shows. The biggest disappointment tho and the thing that lets this film down completely is that all the fight scenes are awful! The director has tried to make them very fast and dynamic, but what you get is lots of weapons clashing at such speed that you can't actually see anything. It's full of nauseating shots that flash for a split second and are gone. There is not a single decent fight scene in the entire movie. Very poor.

This is what Donnie Yen is all about. He did not hold back in this movie. 20 years from now I will still be watching this movie because its that good.
